Hzrdus smoke black vs Evenflow black

Looking for a new shaft for my ping g410 driver. Wondering how these compare to each other? I know they are both listed as low launch, but have read others say the smoke black is more low/mid launch? More about accuracy than distance. Thanks

I’m an ex-hzrdus smoke black user in my driver and current user in my utility iron. I can’t compare it with Evenflow as I’ve never used or tested with it but I can say the hzrdus has my desired launch characteristics which is mid/low (emphasis on mid being first).

I tried both when I was being fitted for my TS3 and ended up with the Even Flow White.

 

My take is that the Smoke launched a little higher than the Even Flow. Not a great deal buy my recollection was that launch was a degree or two more which I could have lived with quite easily but the feel of the Even Flow was for me, so much nicer. They were both 6.0 flex but the Smoke felt very harsh to me.

Tried both in the weaker profiles - To me they are very different in feel.

Tried hzrdus in a few clubs and never really got on with it - even flow suits my swing a bit better.....

Tried out both in my driver, hzrdus was nice but seemed like I needed a faster or more aggressive transition to get it to work. Tried and got an even flow black, just seemed better with a nice swing without stepping on it.

Did you try the x flex in both? Im getting older(56) swing speed 96-100, so I was thinking maybe a 5.5(reg) in either. That way, especially the hzrdus smoke, maybe can handle a less aggressive transition?

Yes they were both X flex, my assumption would be the difference between the two shafts in any flex is the bend profile. When I referred to step on it I didn't mean swing faster, more of an aggressive transition/ weight shift

I have a 9* G410 Plus with Even Flow Black 75 6.0 in the flat position and have really enjoyed the combo. The ball flight I'm seeing is actually mid/high but still pretty dang penetrating. I did compare it to Even Flow Red and that was noticeably higher. No experience with Smoke but it seems like the big difference between the two lineups is the butt section which relates to your tempo and what you feel.
