I just spent $400 on a putter

I just bought a Piretti Cortino 2, it has to last at least 10 years (that's the only way I got the go ahead from my significant other) sooooooooo .....

Any tips on keeping this amazing putter pristine?

I keep my head cover close. I try to have it on the club before I get to the cart so if I drop it it won’t hit the path. That’s my best advice. As for $400. Probably the best club to splurge on. You use it the most and with proper care it will last forever.

I was honestly super hesitant to spend that much, but I figured if I can spend more than that on a driver I can spend that much on a putter.

I’m with you on that one. I like trying new clubs and technology but when it comes to putters I have a hard time changing them. I paid $450 for a cameron a couple months ago and had to explain myself. The only thing I could come up with was that they are all most like art. It’s more than a putter if you collect them.

I believe those are 303 stainless so just keep it in a head cover so it doesn't ding and wipe it clean to look nice. No worry of rust.

Make sure she knows what only the Headcover looks like. Buy multiple headcovers (the same one) and use them for new putters. The best way to make a putter last is to have options... just saying

This is my gamer since September 2014. This picture was taken a few years ago but the putter still looks exactly like this today. Use a head cover and you will preserve the putter's appearance. Also, never slam the putter during a fit of anger.

Simple. Never let it go back into your headcover wet. Dry with a towel as you walk off the green. You’ll never have problems.

If you play in the rain, just plan on drying your putter completely after the round & let it air-dry overnight outside of your bag & outside of the cover.

SS might not technically rust, but surface spots will appear if left overnight in a wet headcover.

I have gamed a bead blasted stainless steel putter for years and the only marks on it were some minor scratches on the sole. As others have said, use a headcover. Don't put it away wet. And don't carry a wedge and putter in the same hand where the wedge can bang into the putter head. Remember - metal against metal is bad with a putter head.

Headcovers are for sissy's!! This never saw a headcover in 25 years and looks great.

I've yet to see a Carpenter that puts a headcover on his hammer..........LOL
