Maxfli Tour

For those that are interested, I have been comparing the Maxfli Tour to the 2020 Chrome Soft. I must say, I'm quite impressed. It has a great feel and seems to have comparable spin numbers. I've only tested it in the short game thus far, but will be playing 18 with it tomorrow. After reading another thread about this ball, I was tempted to try it since they are about 1/2 the cost of the 2020 Chrome Soft.

Anyone else been playing the Maxfli Tour and what are your opinions?

I got chosen to test the Tour and tour x for another website and have been playing them ever since. The Tour does everything I need to with a ball and the cost can't be beat. The fact that they align the alignment line with the center of gravity is an added bonus.

I bought a whole bunch for the Maxfli tour X while i was in the States - 2 dozen for $50 seemed a bargain for a 4 piece Urethane ball - I like them... and this recent TXG revierw of them vs Titleist Pro V confirms it... if anything slightly more spin with short game shots and irons and less sipb with Driver for, for way less $.

Played 18 with the Maxfli today and the comment from my playing partners was "I've never seen you hit the ball so far or so well". I have to admit, the ball did seem to carry further off the driver compared to the 2020 Chrome Soft. I didn't hit any comparison shots but I was hitting it as far or farther than my much younger playing partners.

Felt really soft off the driver and yet it felt really solid at the same time. For the price, this is a great ball. I'm trying to decide if I should keep it in the bag or keep playing the 2020 CS. I may have to play another 18 with it just to make sure this was not my imagination.

I saw the TXG comparison as well and was looking forward to trying out the Tour X for comparison. I currently play the Pro V1x, however, they don't make the Tour X in yellow so its a NO GO for me. I have a very hard time tracking white balls in the distance.

I'm just the opposite... I can't track yellow balls so I stick to white.

The Tour X is the softest feeling "X" Ball that I have played, similar feel the ProV1. Very happy with the performance so far.

The Maxflis are wonderful balls. Factor in the price and they get even more appealing.

Also interested in comparison between Tour and Tour X. Played 27 holes with Tour last week and was very impressed. As long as anything I’ve played and had plenty of spin. I’m typically very low spin with irons and wedges and these seemed great for me. Wondering if it is even worth trying the X or is the X higher spin?

I know you were playing the OnCore Elixr for a while. How would you compare the Maxfli Tour to the Elixr?

I quit playing the Elixir because I could match the distance with the Bridgestone Tour RX at the time. I subsequently tried the RX 2020 and did not find it any longer and the spin was not as good as the 2020 CS.

Was able to play both the Tour and Tour X side by side. For me the Tour feels slightly softer off all clubs and spins more off the irons, making it a club shorter for distance for me off the my irons. The X is slightly firmer and spins less off the irons for me and goes the distances I expect for my irons. The X has a lower trajectory off all clubs than the Tour. Feel for the Tour is softer than the ProV1 and The X feels similar to the ProV1 and softer than the ProV1X. For me the Tour X fits my game the best.

It really is a good ball overall. And for the money it is even better as others have said. I will be watching for a sale myself even though I just bought several dozen Tour BX. Maxfli would make a great fall ball.

I played both the Tour and the X today. They're interchangeable with the ProV1 and X's. I couldn't tell a difference between the Maxfli and the Titleist except for spending twice the money on the ProV's. They held up exceptionally well. My only mark against them is that they spin a little too much for me on soft greens. I had a couple really zip back when a drop and stop would've been better. When the greens firm up I think these will be absolutely phenomenal. I'll continue to play these. They take a back seat to no one.

I ordered the Maxfli Tour Yellow, and they shipped me green! I called and they said I would have to reorder the Yellow. Not to happy with Dicks right now. I asked them why they switched my order! I really cannot understand why anyone would sell green golf balls??? How would you find them? So far not happy at all.

Chrome Soft comparison is fair. They are good golf balls.

Tried them today. I think I have found my new ball and will be stocking up on them. Hurts a lot less when I lose a $2 ball vs a $4 ball

I broke down and bought a couple of boxes of the Tour X to test several months ago and I have to say they perform every bit as good as my gamer which is the Pro V1x. I would make the switch to these balls exclusively (based on performance and price), but unfortunately they don't make the Tour X in yellow.
