Ha! Yes, it’s time to start putting funds away. The 2020 low spin thread may slow down before it ever gets going as the secret proto went Mike Tyson on the other shafts. Looking at the swing speeds it seems it would be counterbalanced. I would think it would be an Orange AV 2.0 but saw where JT said there is no Orange AV 2.0 as of now.

Is the White AV 2.0 using boron or MR70 in the tip like the previous Pro models or is it a new material?

hmm... I didn’t get along with the counterbalanced hazardous shaft, so this might be a bad fit for me...

It isn't counterbalanced. It is however one of those shafts that doesn't feel unmanageable when you smooth it but never feels loose when you step on it. It and white av 2.0 can be too low spin for lower speeds but for 108-110 on up, bombs away.

I can safely say it's going to be one of those shafts that stays on tour and isn't ever released as a retail product. Along the lines of V2 orange or Synergy Black. True legends that you just never see for sale because nobody ever gets rid of them. We can already say that availability is going to be very limited. Once I know firm pricing, I'll put up a pre order on them. I'd say look for it in a week or two.

Limited availability is the worst thing we can hear from a seller's perspective. I'd much rather we have thousands available so that everyone who wanted it could have it. Unfortunately not the case in this instance. If you'd like anything Fujikura, True Temper, Mitsubishi, TPT, or Aldila, we carry all these brands in all models and flexes. I also think you are going to see as we get into lower speeds, there are many better player options readily available retail. These protos are meant for high speed or high load players needed to keep spin way down. The modern Tour pro brings it 170-190 ball speed, meaning many of these shafts are not for everyone, which is why they stay Tour only.

It's amazing. I play it in my 2016 M2 head and it's perfect for that head. Like it was made for it. The ONLY reason I switched was that my new SIM head launches too high.

@TollBros How much of a difference between the Tensei AV Orange X and TX is there? I am someone who can swing it 112-113mph, but I'm currently going through some swing changes and am hovering in the 106-107mph range while I get acclimated to some new moves; I fully expect to be back to the 112+ range in a month or two. Is the X a better choice, is the TX, or is it really splitting hairs? Right now, I play an Oban Kiyoshi Tour Limited 70 O5 flex at 44.5" and I rotate in an Atmos TS Black 7X at 44.5". I prefer the smoothness of the Oban, but I feel like when the stars align, I get much more out of the Atmos.

The TX version is essentially the pro version of AV raw. So think of it as similar to the original Tensei line in the X being a base version and the TX being the pro version. The AV raw line is a smoother feeling shaft than the Tensei Pro, so you aren't going to be overwhelmed by it even hovering around 110. Go with the TX if you want lower spin, more control and a higher quality product. I'm not saying the X is a bad shaft, it isn't, but if feel, low spin and maximum dispersion and stability are what you want, go TX. All are TX flex. We don't post things like weight, tipping, or detailed specs as those are things we use for fitting customers internally. We do have all this info, as well as tests of a wide variety of players, speeds, swing styles, etc in every weight, tipping, swingweight variations, etc. This is all used to fit our customers. I will post the smaller blocks from 110 and 105 tonight. I will also have a couple specialty blocks that I will put up.

 

One is a high spin player in the 107-108 range which I think represents a lot of players. The other is a Iong drive competitor that we had on range who gave me permission to post his data. Both should add a little something new to this year's test data for you guys.

Gio, pretty glad to hear you are liking the RIPx! In talking with you a few times we seem to have similar shafts perform pretty well for us. I have a RIPx 65TX on the way. Just have to figure out tipping
