Rickie Fowler Prototype MB irons

I like Rickie more than Sergio, but Sergio is/was the much better player. Sergio is 40, has won 10 times on the PGA Tour. Rickie 31 and 5. Sergio plays mainly on the Euro Tour, and has won 35 times internationally. Not to mention his Masters win. They both won the Players (Rickie beat Sergio interestingly enough). But I don't think Rickie will ever catch Sergio's success. And Sergio is only 40. Somehow he feels a lot older.

They are just so similar play wise... rick is almost always in the top ten or close... just cant put it together to win big ones and lately even normal events. I guess we shall see who has the better career. Im actually allways wanting for him to win a big one.

I actually think Rickie is similar to Morikawa play style wise. I think mainly their stature but whatever since both are not the tallest dudes out there but get it done. Similar results off the tee. Morikawa is the better iron player while Rickie is by far the better putter. Their swings are pretty different though. Sergio I think is actually pretty consistent except his occasional melt downs. He's been ranked top 10, 20 since 1999! Well up through 2018 at least. That's a long freakin time. And I felt he had a good 18 and 19 too, winning total 3 times and 20 total top tens over the two years. He somehow lost ground lol. He's underrated cuz he just should have won more majors.

Rickie has a ton of talent but he can't put it all together for 4 days. He's fighting the mental side of the game and its amazing that its w/ his irons vs putting like a lot of players!

I hope they release these irons at a lower price point since RF has already moved on from them.

I wonder what he will have in the bag this week.. My guess is AMP's. Do listen to the WRX podcasts.. Johnny Wunder talked about these and the situation around them.

 

I am still not sure I buy it but whatever. Will be interesting to see what happens this week.

I love the look of them, and at $1200 I'd be really interested, but the price is a deal breaker for me.

I'm not buying it. I find it extremely hard to believe there is only a single set of the RF33s in existence.

Exactly, even Rev32 or the satin rev33s would have been a closer fit. Not buying it at all that Cobra couldnt get him a 2nd set (or 5) with x100s

Rickie may want to reconsider putting the Rev33 irons back in the bag. Not looking good this week.

Maybe the truth is Cobra doesn’t believe they will sell. Would be a very niche market anyway. No need to pump up an iron you’re not going to release.

Truth there. All you’d have to do to know this was watch my early 2014 driver game. I wore a dime on the face and regularly pumped them 60 yards right. Why ? The face was wide open.
