Worst 9 hole score with an Ace?

I'm a crappy golfer. I accept that. I don’t get enough games in to truly improve any more, and I don’t really enjoy practicing on the range or the putting green - mostly because it’s time and energy I’d prefer to spend playing despite knowing that it would probably help me more to practice.

So I’m a crappy golfer who has very little chance of getting down to a single digit handicap, and who is content to shoot mostly mid-80s while threatening to break the 80 mark occasionally when the stars align (79 twice in the last 5 years is my personal best) and who can easily wander into the low-to-mid 90s if the flatstick gets cold or if the two-way-miss starts to rear its head (thankfully a lot rarer than it used to be) off the tee.

That being said, I’m a crappy golfer who recently (July 18th, 2020) hit his third career ace. That ace was the result of a perfectly struck 9-iron at the perfect moment in time. It came during a back nine that was otherwise pretty horrendous though. After shooting a very respectable +5 on the front despite what felt like zero putts of any length dropping for me, I started the back nine with a chunk-filled double, quad, double bogey stretch which I then interrupted with the aforementioned Ace. From there it was another double, double, quad stretch before getting my act together and finishing with a couple of pars.

So my third career ace came in the middle of a +14 back nine, which prompted a Facebook friend to ask “Wonder what the record is for worst nine posted with someone’s third career ace?”

What is the worst 9 hole (or 18 hole) score you’ve ever posted or witnessed with an ace on the card? I’m sure my first one was worse than this one as I was a 30+ handicap back then. My second one was during a quick 9-hole round and I was +7 for the round.

I have had 4 aces and could not tell you what I scored for any of the rounds. I can tell you exactly what club I hit and what the ball flight and spin was for each shot though.

My first was my 44th hole of the day and I was originally only intending to play to the 9th but my buddy convinced me to finish out the round after the ace. I have no clue what I shot but it was definitely very high as I was completely dragging ass by the end of the round.

I too can remember exactly what club I hit, how the shot looked, etc. I can also remember the exact dates (first two were only one day off of being exactly 14 years apart) of all three.

Let see. I had a round with my wife, father and father in law. Was playing like total trash and shot something mid 80s on the front nine. and couldn't do anything right Get to 10 and sink a 4i for the HIO from 212. After that I couldn't miss and shot 1 under on the back. OK I had 1 bogey. Wish I could feel that confidence again.
