Hzrdus Smoke Green in TM SIM - made for shaft or real deal?

I'm not here to advocate either way to the original question but I can say there is no standard for measuring torque. On top of that, it's been very common for numbers (both torque and weight) in the TM custom upgrade shaft specs (which are certainly aftermarket shafts) not to match the shaft OEM published specs. So the difference doesn't really tell us anything conclusive.

Reviving the thread, anyone know the difference between the 6.0 and 6.5? I play Tensei Orange X, but the 6.0 while a good fit was NOT anti-left. I wasn’t sure if the 6.5 would perform the same but help me present a more open face without a change in the spin numbers which were borderline perfect.

I understand it’s stiffer, I am wondering if it would reduce spin even more than the 6.0 since I was on that line of perfect and a little less could go in way too low spin.

Unfortunately, that's hard to say w/o actually demoing it. The way a change in feel (stiffness or weight) from the shaft can effect your swing and deliver can easily outweigh the direct contribution of the profile (if there is any - not all swing types will see the profile have much direct effect).

It's usually much better to find a shaft that feels good and gives good consistent results and maybe help with the desired ball flight than it is to try and tweak launch and spin with the shaft profile. So if the stiffer shaft does end up helping with the control, then it's probably a good move regardless of what it might do to the launch and spin. If you need to, just tweak the head lofts to deal with any changes (if there is any).

TM has always published their own testing results as far as specs go. I haven't looked at them in quite a while but they even used to vary the specs for Dynamic Golds.

As far as the initial question is concerned the HZRDUS Green is 100% the same materials and design as the aftermarket just without all the quality checks as the Small Batch version. Don't listen to anyone who tells you it's "watered down". The same cannot be said for the Ventus however. If it says Velocore near the tip it is the real deal aftermarket and if it does not it is a watered down version.

”Hulk” was just a term that got put on the shaft due to the profile and obviously the color. The 6.0, 6.5 and 6.5TX are not “different” other than obviously the flex. PX makes plenty of other shafts in a 6.5TX and they aren’t creating a totally different shaft each time. The “Hulk” name was not just used for the 6.5TX. I have a 6.0 Small Batch PVD Green Smoke shaft and it was built for me by one of the most popular club builders on this site. I did a ton of research on this before I purchased one. I can say also that in my opinion it has a noticeably different feel than the non PVD/non Small Batch OEM shaft out there. Maybe that’s due to the different club heads and their head weight/swing weight but it was obvious to me and the owner of the other club.

Based on the differences in bend profile, they are clearly different shafts rather than just stiffer versions of the same shaft. I don't know why they have to confuse the world by representing that they are the same shaft. Maybe at the least the 6.0 and 6.5 could have been the lime green and the 6.5tx hunter green.

Right but as a flex designation it insinuates a change in flex stiffness rather than a change in shaft.

Last paragraph says what I've been saying. And in the beginning it says it's not called the Hulk it just stuck from a few players saying you'd have to be the Hulk to hit it. True temper refers to it as Hazardous Smoke Green. 3 flexes 6.5TX, 6.5X and 6.0S thanks for the great article.

Yes they have 3 offerings. The 6.0 and 6.5 are one shaft design. The 6.5tx is a totally different and a lot stiffer shaft. This is the shaft that was introduced to the tour and where the nickname came from. The 6.0 and 6.5 were follow up offers for PX to market to the general public and sell shafts that look like what’s on tour

while the pvd paint scheme may refer to hulk when people talk about the hulk shaft it is in reference to the 6.5tx

So I know now that 6.5 TX is for small batch and special..

Does anyone know that TM sim max hzrdus shaft 6.0 and 6.5 shafts are the same as small batch 6.0 and 6.5?

"Small Batch" may or may not refer to specific spec tolerances, but for the most part I would not worry about the designation given that the real tangible differences are between the TX and non TX flexes.

That’s just not true. Same materials, design and build, just not small batch designation. Mass produced overseas for volume stock shaft programs. To say it’s “watered down” is just inaccurate

if it wasn't watered down or not lesser materials it would still cost £300 like the original shaft. A company would never survive with that business proposal. its a stock shaft painted to look like a tour shaft.

Are you talking about the black with green lettering versus the pvd finish? It’s been stated before that they’re the same shaft but the upcharge is for pvd finish. Also it’s been stated before that the “hulk” name and design are only specific to the small batch 6.5TX shaft which is only offered via custom upcharge or via aftermarket build with PFC dealers.
