True Temper Elevate - Iron Shafts

Can anyone give any feedback on where the kick-point is on the Elevates? That seems to be the most important aspect for me when comparing shafts of similar weight/flex.

I'm looking for something with a mid kickpoint.

I came from a Modus 120 stiff to the Elevate Tour Stiff and the apex is higher on my full swings compared to the Modus 120 with zero distance loss. Balls are holding on the greens a lot better on holes where the green is higher than where I'm hitting it from. It's weird to see ball flights go higher and not lose distance but that's a golf shaft for you, the engine of the club.

I believe they have a mid-kickpoint.

Can anyone comment on the vibration absorbtion of the elevate vs graphite? I have Steelfiber i95's in my irons now but want to make the swith to the elevate in my new irons as long as it won't bother my wrist and elbow.

I have the tour version in my 737v, really like them, very smooth.

I have a set of Mavrik Pro irons en route with the 105 version, even more launch and spin for the stronger lofted irons.

TT did a nice job with these.

If that's the case they are charging premium for the VSS... : - /

Never played the XP95 but I do liked the Tour @ 112 grams; I was thinking of trying the 95 gram version.

Pretty amazing, I might say. Full disclosure, I can only compare to Steelfiber 95/110, not Recoil 95/110, MMT, Accra i series, etc. But at least with the Elevate 95 shafts, I would say they are easier on my joints than the Steelfibers. I am incredibly impressed with the VSS in the Elevate 95. Great performing shafts as well.

I am going to be demoing the Elevate 105 in some irons at some point soon, so I’ll get a sense of those as well. And the Elevate Tours have been outstanding in my wedges. Great line for those that want the look, feel and performance of steel, with the vibration dampening of graphite. YMMV.

Vibration inserts in steel shafts do make a difference but they don't bring the shaft to the same level of vibration damping as graphite. And if you want the full monty, install inserts inside your graphite's.

Here is the vss tour versus original sensicore. Looks exactly the same only shorter. Not sure why they changed the name of it as it’s exactly the same.

OMG...thanks for diggin' one out, what a rip. I do like the shafts but I don''t like having to wait for over a month to get a six iron 95; they don't seem to be readily available in .355. You wonder if they will discontinue these anytime soon...

Last week, I got on the True Temper site and went thru their Iron Shaft fitting process. I said:

#7 Iron Distance = 156 yards

Trajectory Desired = medium

Shaft Weight Desired = Unsure

Average Swing Tempo = Fast

The shaft they recommended was the Elevate Tour X. I was stunned, as I have been trying softer shafts.

Anyone have any idea how this recommendation was determined?

I us the Elevate Tour stiff in my Cally Apex Pro/Apex combo set and love them. Smooth, good trajectory. Considering trying in my Mizuno MB/HMB combo set which currently have the Modus 120s (considering Modus 105s or Elevate Tours).

I was not fitted. I blindly chose them as a stock shaft offering without knowing the specs or even being aware of the Elevate 95 as the other stock choice. Got lucky. The 95's would probably be a little light for me at 102g in stiff. The Tours being 117g in stiff. I have communicated with other more experienced golfers than me and they also really like them and consider them their top choice of shaft, and they have played many. Compared to the Modus, the Elevates may be a little higher launching but not much. I don't have LM #'s tho. Overall feel is similar for me, but by no means do I consider myself a shaft guru. I play the Elevates with the Apex which I think is a great head with great feel. My distance has improved dramatically with that stick. I am 1-2 clubs longer with this set up than I have ever been. With good dispersion and I can work the ball both ways (on good days).

I play the Modus 120 in the HMB PW-4 and they are much lighter to me than the Apex, which I think is do more to head wt than shaft wt. The 120 stiff is 114g so only a 3g difference so my thought is the head, anyway. I am in the process of trying to fit the 120's into my new MB/HMB combo set but the PW-7i MB's I received are dramatically heavier than anticipated so I am in the process of figuring that out so they pair with the HMB. I apologize if I'm rambling but long story short, I really like the Elevates and would recommend them and know others that would as well. The reason I got the Mizuno HMB is I fell in love with the look of the head and the Mizuno story (and I hit them well). I've never played a Mizzy before and was in a position to get another set so I splurged. I'm adding the MB's because I want to experience a true Mizzy "blade". But I don't see myself giving up the Cally Apex combo with the Elevates any time soon. Good luck!

Played the Tour Elevate X-flex

in my irons the last 2 weeks.

Compared to $-Taper 125 and Modus 120X,

the Elevates peak

the highest, but not by much, next would be $-Tapers and then the Modus sry close to the $-Tapers.

Feel goes to the Elevates which is high praise from me considering I thought the $-Tapers felt superior to any other up until now.

Spin appears more in the Elevates (more stopping control).

The Elevates are in for the rest of the season.

Consistancy is the best I’ve experienced in an iron shaft.

IMHO these are not like the Pxi; I think a close

comparision is the KBS FLT shaft. Higher flight, Med spin and smooth feel.

In fact the Elevates, $-Tapers and FLTs all play similar. The inserts work in the Elevates-no doubt this is the reason the feel is superior.

The Elevates play slightly soft to flex. Comparing to the Modus 120 in terms of flex is difficult for me as I have seen the Modus 120s play vastly different for players with similar swing speeds but different tempos/Transitions.

Just a great shaft for a lot of players.

I have these coming in some PXG Gen 3 irons.  I was hitting TT AMT Black in Titleist AP3 irons and went to PXG G2n 2 with Nippon Modus 105 to try and even out the shaft weight throughout the set.  Then I just tried the Gen 3 with the Elevate 95 in the irons and the Elevate Tour in the wedges.  The Elevate 95's felts "heavy" due to the shaft feel.  Hitting them in succession really showed me the difference between the shafts.  The Modus was a much more familiar feel for me but my swing was less smooth due to a lack of feel of the clubhead.  Once I timed and dialed in the Elevate 95 in my mind, I slowed the swing in my mind (actually more smooth swing) and was hitting it very well.

Ball flight with the Elevate was definitely higher than the Modus 105. I really liked what I was seeing.  The irons are due in next week and I will be able to see how this latest fit goes.  The other thing the fitter did was the lie angle.  I have always been 2º upright and the Gen 2's were fit (online/phone discussion) at standard lie, and the Gen 3's are 1º flat.  This allows me to finally hit fades with irons.  I am really looking forward to putting the new clubs in play - not fighting the left shot will be amazing, but being able to work it both ways should be a game changer.

My stock of XP 115 X100 has finally run out so looking to try the Elevate Tour X shaft.

Currently play the XP 115 X100 soft stepped in my 4-6 irons and standard X100 soft stepped in 7-PW. I'm looking to shaft up a new (old) set and with no more XP 115s available, can anybody share their experiences of the two shafts (XP 115 vs Elevaate) with thoughts on whether I should be soft stepping the Elevate's too if I am going to use them in the 4-6 to replace the XP 115s?

Does the elevate tour Stiff play true to flex?  Say compared to kbs tour 120 or DG S300?

I would say in between the two - closer to the S300

But it doesnt feel the same as either.
