Does anyone play a Driver shaft 46.5" or longer

Hello folks,

I'm considering going longer in the shaft (jokes aside :) ) as I wouldn't mind a few extra yards and I'm quite comfortable with my dispersion and have quite a smooth tempo. My GA hcp is 4.5

Wondering what the tech implications are of going up to 47 or 48 inches:

* I currently play a 57g driver at 45.25" - would I need to play something slightly heavier if I go up?

* What about stiffness profile - I currently play a lowish kickpoint shaft, would this necessarily have to change?

* What brands / models are out there that people see in excess of 46" ?

* Is there roughly a x number of yards per inch gain assuming all else being equal?

We could all use a little in she shaft... for clubs i think.. well.. i play my 2 drivers i have at i think 45.5 or 45. The other is a 44.5. They all work just as well as the others. Although sometimes i think its more effortless to hit the longer ones more longer and at the same time the 44.5 feels great too. Its just a preference. 46.5 does sound very long though. Im sure its hittable but accuracy and ball striking on the face then comes to mind. You could allways chop it down if its too wierd. If im not mistaken i think any shaft manufacturers can ship you the longest length you need in any flex or weighy needed... obviously the more longer the more bendy it would probably be.. so probably go up a flex and maybe a bit more weight?

the techie guys can answer the other. Some guys do not swing longer clubs faster

also, if you can swing them faster ... can you make Center contact to capitalize on a little speed boost?

Great point. Their are videos online of pga pros saying that swinging the club faster is pretty much nothing without hitting the ball center face. At least just a tad of center should be ok but outside of that all the benefits are lost probably. That goes for any club probably.. long short iron driver wedge putter lol

To swing a super long club to me throws off the timing, and you can't swing very aggressively. And if you try to swing aggressively, you can hit it all over the map.
