yes, white 2.0 and the aldila tour proto 1.0; both in 75TX tipped 1" and playing 44.5"

Nice. I've been playing the Rogue White 70 TX, but have felt recently like I would prefer a "tighter" feel. Any thoughts on a comparison to that shaft would be much appreciated.

 

And forgot we very similar spec'd drivers/shafts...Very interested in the results.

Well, after a range session - I'm gonna go with the aldila 1.0 proto for tomorrow. Feels a touch softer than the white 2.0, and I don't feel like I need to go at it 110% to keep it where I want it. More to come.

Tipped 1 inch in the 2.0 75tx is very tight. The spin is super super low but it does require some heat at that tipping. These shafts are very sensitive to tipping and tighten up fast. I really did think you'd like that 1.0 proto. Testers have been comparing to the Kuro Kage Dual Core XT in the way it feels, maybe with a shade less spin.

I had some stuff shipped via USPS, and it took over a week to cross Los Angeles, through the various distribution points. Then it took another week to get from Los Angeles to Richmond (B.C.) Hopefully it'll get off the slow horse and onto one moving a tad faster.

well - my qualifier was great driving wise...it was other parts of my game that let me down. onto the next one.

 

preliminary thoughts on these shafts-

 

AV White 2.0 - This shaft is easily one of the most stable shafts i've played but does NOT feel like rebar. there isn't one iota of kick in it - you know where the head/clubface are at all times. that being said - i had to up the loft in this a bit b/c on the range it seemed like i had some knuckleballs (could've been the balls too tho). Overall i actually REALLY liked it b/c it was point and shoot - there was very little curvature of the golf ball to be had - loved a straight shot.

 

Aldila 1.0 Proto - This one puzzles me. there are times when it swings alot like the AV 2.0, and there are times when it has definitive kick to it. not sure i have been able to tell the difference as to when...but when it does, i can hit a draw...when it doesn't, it goes straight or with a cut. the spin is very low with both of these shafts but, this shaft is a touch more playable for me.

 

So far - im favoring the aldila---however, if i got my hands on a AV White 2.0 65TX it might make things interesting.

 

more to come - i'm going to grab the sim sometime this week and get some numbers and some work done for you guys.

I've noticed anything that goes through the Elk Grove center in IL takes significantly longer than other USPS shipments. I currently have an Olson Retro putter sitting there right now. Very frustrating.

Thanks for taking the time to post the write up. A question that came to mind; I think you had tried the KK XD in the past, would you say the Raw White 2.0 is closer in terms of feel/performance to the XD then say the original Pro White?

no. i think the Aldila 1.0 is actually closer to the XD...but similar to original tensei pro white TX in stability. the raw white 2.0 is honestly a lot more of a stronger av raw 1.0 (in TX)

I'd add, that 2.0 isn't a shaft for everyone. It's stout and very low spin, very sensitive to tipping and needs to be fit to the player. It's not one of those shafts that fits a ton of people, but those who it does fit will love it.

 

The Aldila tour proto 1.0 is more like dual core XT in that it holds up under aggressive swings but still maintains some smoothness and load. It's a much better option for most people and lower speeds or guys who aren't super aggressive. I expect most will love this shaft.

I will be hitting my simulator either today or tomorrow. i gamed the white 2.0 yesterday --- now that i've played it i have a very different opinion of it. I like it more than the aldila tour - i'll have in-depth discussion/thoughts in the next day or so.

how'd you know i was thinking of doing that...? lol i think a 65TX, tipped 1/2" would be IDEAL for me after how it played yesterday. sorry for not gettin back to your text -- i was out at a private lake these last couple days with no reception...it was heaven haha
