Same shaft type in my driver vs 3 wood?

Recently purchased a Callaway epic flash 3 wood with a Tensei AV blue 75 gram stiff shaft and I love it. I hit it very straight and reasonably long. SS is around 104-107.

I like it so much I’m looking at the epic flash drivers as well. Specifically, the sub zero model.

question: would you recommend getting the Tensei AV blue shaft (60g) in the driver since it works well in my 3 wood? I have called around and can’t find a demo model since it is an older model now.

YES .... profiles is the same for both weight series, and if it works for your swing, you could play the same in both driver and woods.

Both the S 65 to 75 and X 65 to 75 is 10 grams apart, who match 2-2.5 inch longer driver than a 3W ( i dont see any 60 grams)https://www.mca-golf.com/products/av-blue

Thank you for the reply, Howard. On PGA superstore it shows the shaft as “Tensei AV Blue 60” which I assumed was 60 grams. It does seem odd it doesn’t show on the link you provided.

It could be a typo from that store, and we often just express it as "60 gram series" or "70 gram series", so it could also be a "bad short hand" for that. To make sure, send them a mail and ask for uncut weight, as you can see from MCA, it seems like 3 series, all with 10 grams apart, so even if its called 55 - 65 and 75, actual weight is 58 - 67 - 77 for the S flex.

 

PS there is a TENSEI CK Blue S flex thats called "60", but even that one is 67 grams as S flex, so the "name number" is really a "series value" that could be quite a few grams from actual weight.https://www.mca-golf.com/products/ck-blue-0
