I don't love the look of the sole but it seems as though it will look nice at address. Also, could just be the photos but this looks a bit big given that the 7 is the smaller headed model.

My buddy, an exec and Cleveland /Srixon, told me they are more excited about this driver than any they've made since the Classic. I'm eagerly waiting for him to get his so I can hit it.

Crown looks pretty standard. The sole is hideous and unfortunately won't do it any favors in the shop on the rack.

I agree, shape looks similar to a Titleist TS2. There is another model on the conforming list called the ZX 7 T011. Maybe that version has a deeper face?

 

Not sure I get all the comments on the sole of the club. I find nothing there that makes it particularly less appealing than anything else on the market.

Agree but shelf appeal is one of the most important aspects of a product. I'm a srixon fan but wow did they make this look cheap.

So true. How is every driver ever displayed at your golf store?? The bottom absolutely matters. Unfortunately, this looks very box set from the bottom. May be a great driver and I am curious what the rebound frame is.

I can’t understand the lack of understanding. We, on this website, are into golf more than the average weekend golfer. While the sole of the club might not influence us in any way, it’s also fair to point out that it’s a poor decision to make a sole that looks like a Wilson driver. We can be both interested in the numbers that it gives us off the tee as well as the sales numbers in stores. In fact, it’s totally fine if you don’t buy the driver yourself because the sole is ugly. Looks and the feelings a club elicits has a large impact on our desire to play the game, and if you think half the club was Designed by circus clowns, that may be a problem to some.

People have commented negatively about the sole of the Mavrik driver and it may be the best driver ever made. I only caref it feels good, looks good at address , and if the ball goes straight and long.

if they charge $399 I may be interested. If more, I will buy the Mavrik instead.

Yep, I also hated the Mavrik look when it first came out, but it grew on me. Currently have the Z785 driver in my bag and love it. Will be comparing for sure, but not in a hurry to switch.

I dig the color combo but for some reason my first thought when I saw the sole was "Optimus Prime".

It's a busy sole but it's not like anyone can see that at address.

Srixon woods and drivers have never been good looking (though i play zf65 wood). Their irons are beauty though. However, I am willing to try the new driver as I'm sure it will be way cheaper only several months later.

haha so true. What Exec wouldn't say that about a new product release? In reality it will barely sell and maybe they will get super lucky and have 1 or 2 played on the pga tour. It's always crazy to me how much companies screw up design. Heck just paint the sole all black and it would be 10x's better

Exactly. Matter of fact if one were to come out and say. "I like this release. I'm not 100% sure if it will be better than xxxx year's model. Time and sales will tell"
