Reblasting chrome iron faces - anyone done this?

My P770's have shiny rub marks all over a bunch of the faces - from being in the same position in a cart bag. Not through the chrome just through the satin finish on the face and out on the toe. Just enough to be noticeable at address especially on the 7 and 8 iron

I'd like a uniform finish on the faces at least - can this be achieved with a 3m pad or a dremel with the appropriate wheel? Or am I better off paying to have the heads reblasted to return back to a new look? At some point i'm probably better of just looking for a nice new set of heads rather than spending too much on my current set, so just looking to see if there is a DIY option

If using the 3m scouring pad method, can I go over grooves as well as the toe area?

If you already have an air compressor, you can fab yourself a super-cheap sandblaster out of a soda bottle and a hand-trigger air nozzle from Harbor Freight or Home Depot. Search for DIY sandblaster on youtube and you'll find a dozen or so videos that all show essentially the same thing. It can be built in under 10 minutes.

I've done this to refresh some old wedges and it is amazing how well it works.

I'd use glass media instead of sand on iron faces. Sand takes away material (chrome). Glass will give a nice look. Just tape off what you don't want blasted and stay away from the edge up the tape as much as possible. It's a pretty easy job if you have a compressor.

Good point. That said, I've played around with this a bit and with fine sand from home depot and keeping the nozzle farther away, you can modulate things pretty well to get more or less aggressive. For the tiny things I've done (like club faces), I don't have much need to go out and buy even minimum quantities of various blasting media (glass beads, aluminum oxide, etc...). So, I pretty much use what I can get a hold of easily - which for me is either sand or baking soda.

The wedges I was blasting were raw finished, so no chrome there anyway.

And a good respirator is something I'd strongly recommend if you're blasting outside of a sealed chamber.

I have access to a commercial chamber with media so I'm spoiled?. Below was my first attempt a few years ago with glass. The wedge was from sand then glass.
