Anybody have a golf simulator/launch monitor

I was looking to buy a used Trackman to set up a simulator in the house but they do not seem to be available except through the company directly. Trackman keeps the prices of used models pretty high so it’s almost not worth going used. I figured there would be a ton of used models out there, especially from all the indoor ranges I see going belly up. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get a used a Trackman at a good price.

I have a GC2 with both FR1 (Foreisghts original software) and TGC 2019 in our garage. The TGC has excellent graphics and the game play is good. From what I’ve found it’s one of the better values considering the cost, customer service and number of courses. Proteeplay also has some good games and skill challenges. They’re in the process of redoing it, but it’s also a decent value. I haven’t spent much time in to this forum until lately, so I’m not entirely sure how much information there is on simulators here, I’d also recommend checking out the golfsimulatorforum. There is tons of information and lots of great members willing to help.

what are you guys using as a net to hit into? i am looking to set something up in the backyard and don't know where to begin with nets. Not looking to use as a screen as won't have a projector but i have seen a lot of varying things in the interwebs

I have a NetReturn Pro in the garage but works fine outdoors as well. You can DIY with PVC and netting for less but this was an easy button purchase :)

 

I mostly got it for the garage for winter/lockdown (also ordered a Mevo+ more for a LM and game improvement then a SIM however it does do SIM of course :)

thanks yea i'm between the mevo and the mevo+, problem is the + is 14 week shipping time. any other nets out there i should look into? i've seen some things about archery netting?

I have had GC2 and HMT for years. I bought the simulator over time in pieces. Net with TV, Carl's hitting screen with cage and projector. For me it is a great investment. I use it all year round and A LOT in the winter. I play in a league with friends and the league does not end. When the snow flies we move indoors and have at it. Its not quite golf but between the banter, cigars and beer I its a great way to spend a weeknight with buddies when it is snowing. I keep it at work by the way.

It really helps my game also. I know my numbers so I can see where I am off if funny things are happening and I can tell what moves generate club head speed and which do not.

I put a simulator in my garage in March just before corona hit. Has been awesome. I use a skytrak with E6 connect software

I recently purchased the Rapsodo mobile launch monitor. It works in conjunction with an app on the iphone. Gives distance, club speed, smash factor, launch angle and ball speed. They're working on giving spin numbers too. It shows a video of your swing and just like on TV it shows a red line of the ball flight. Very flexible unit. You can even email your swing with data numbers and ball flight. $500.
