The STi2 comes in LH, and there is a really good video interview with GW lead guy Britt Lindsey. Convinced me to chose it over the TE and KE4 Tour+.

Just checked them out on Golfworks. Not the best looking head I've ever seen. I think I'll pass on them.

The videos show the head much better than the website. I agree the run over penny on the back is one of those things designers do that make me scratch my head.

In hand its a decent looking head. Sort of an industrial finish to some sections. I cant knock it what so ever.

I still have yet to hit it. I've been swamped with testing and club building.

I would really love to try the TS1 or TS2 or any of the forged offerings, but they're not available left-handed. I'm pretty hesitant to try the STi2 because I had a set of KE4U irons, and they went nowhere. They felt nice and were forgiving, but the distance was horrible. I feel like the STi2 would be similar for me.

KE4 have a very low COG and launch high. I’ve got RH versions of the KE4 and STI2. Nowhere close as far as launch goes, IMO

I’m going to try something black on one of the heads to see how it looks once they arrive.

They are pretty cheap and if you paired it with a Score Lt shaft im not sure its possible to build a less expensive test club.

Does golfworks still have that 45 day playability policy?

Im not sure of the actual time frame but they certainly do have the guaranteed playability. So if you just can't hit something call and send them back.

I just checked via the Maltby Playability Factor pages and the KE4 vertical COG is quite a bit lower than the STi2. No wonder they went nowhere for me and spun like crazy. I sure don't need any help hitting the ball high. I do that naturally. I just might check out the STi2 in the future, if I decide to start hoing again, lol.

Now GW has the TS1/TS2 sets with the kbs105 shaft in regular flex for $399.

I was able to get a few more rounds in with the TS2’s. Honestly they are just as good or if not better than any other set of irons out there. I’m getting the exact same results with the Maltby’s as I am with my 2020 Forged Tec‘s, both are amazing, obviously Maltby’s are a fraction of the cost, simply amazing. I had issues initially with the long irons in the TS2 set 4 & 5 irons, of getting them air born, that’s not happening now, probably more of a swing issue than the club.

Any thoughts on performance of the KE4 Tour TC 14* FW versus the ST2s 15*?

I have a Tour TC hybrid in hand. I don't care for that "shell" appearance they create on the crown near the face. I like the look of a true low profile head and to me the ST2s at least on the site, seem to look that way.

I’ve got both heads and for my game the design of the TC is a better fit. The sole is a bit flatter in lie and not so much roundness on the bottom as well. The STi2 has a bit of roundness under it that on a tighter fairway lie, makes me feel like I’ve really got to go down and get it.

@Colej Thanks! The "roundness" at the bottom that you describe: Is it similar to the feeling of hitting a Cobra Baffler (with the rails underneath)?
If I have to choose between that and the odd looking head at address, I'll take the odd looking head every time! LOL!

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is an MMB-17 replacement coming soon. No more club packs and I try to put heads in my cart that show in stock, but that doesn’t work.

Can't comment on the ST2, but after struggling to find (ok, ok.... didn't really look that hard) a FW that I felt comfortable with, I have to say the 16* KE4 Tour TC is money. I love the small/shallow head design.

For the first time in years, I'm actually comfortable hitting a FW off the tee AND fairway. Bunting 3/4i down the fairway 210-220 has it's place, but on ~400 yard tight par 4s, hitting 4-5-6 irons into the green gets tiring quickly.

Britt has been hinting around about another blade like design for quite a while now. But as always little to no information. All he has said was a blade like and a cavity that are solid forgings but I have not seen anything posted in a while.

Recent releases have popped up out of nowhere so this may follow along those lines. The MMB has been another legacy iron like the TE so it will take something special to knock it out of the catalog.

I just looked and it says the GW is no longer available..... so let's hope a new release is right around the corner.

MMB was extremely disappointing for me as I was hoping it was a classic forged blade but it's actually a huge club head with way too much offset. It is bigger and has more offset than the TE and TS-1 for crying out loud. I sincerely hope the new model is an actual "blade" with a small club head and low (no) offset.

I believe the TS-1/TS-2 make the MMB obsolete. The TE is a classic that may stay around as it is the DBM in Chrome and still popular.

It is a very small market for a smallish blade IMO. I am interested to see if they come with something. It would clutter a substantial lineup IMO. Just about any iron for anyone at GW

Obsolete in terms of performance for average golfers but there is a large market for real MBs or the OEMS wouldn't be releasing new models every year. A true forged MB from Maltby with a small club head, low offset, and high COG would be a welcome addition to the lineup for many reasons.
