T1100 Smoke/Hulk is here....

Well, to be fair, Project X themselves called it The Hulk and teased it with picks of it in Hulk gloves on their social media. Anyway, to answer your question....

It is close to the T1100, yes. I mean, it’s certainly not a noodle. The T1100 still had the old school “one piece” feel that some of us came up learning the game on with Whiteboards, old Fujis, etc. I like that feel bc my swing is compact and short (Finau but plus a stroke a hole)

I think the Smoke Green, even in TX just feels a bit more lively and active. All these new low low shafts feel way more feedback prone that the older stuff. Tense White, RPG, etc all feel very smooth IMO despite being beasts that you’d think would be harsh. While the Green may feel a touch looser, it still is an animal. I mean; it’s in Cameron Champs bag....so....

So, does it feel like the T1100? I’d say a touch more lively. Does it perform similar for me? I’d say yes.

And they call it the gamma paint.. So While it is not "technically" called the HULK. That is the nickname. I think they even labelled it that on prototypes early on.. If we wanted to search we could find it here. It think it was at the Genesis Open 2019 that it first showed up. Bryson was testing it.

I am late to the party but I finally have a smoke green inbound! I just have to see what all the fuss is about. I got scared and went with the 70g 6.0 flex. Driver SS right around 110. I’m thinking about tipping it 3/4” to keep the launch in check. Super excited for Saturday!

Shaft is an absolute monster. Brought my flight and spin down and it just goes. Very piercing. Goes up and doesn’t want to come back down. Pairs with a sim and wow.

I tried the 6.5 TX variety and was too much for me. Been playing a small batch 6.5 lately and it's got to be the straightest shaft I've ever hit. Something might actually unseat the GD VR shaft I've been using for the last year or so.

I'm going to give the green a go in 6.5tx flex 70g. I've heard some say its stiffer than T1100 and some say its softer. I figured I would try as the T1100 has been the best driver shaft for me over the last few years. I will have to put my RipX on the bst soon...

I would say at that level of shaft, it’s not about “stiffness”, so much as it is about fit.

t1100, ripx, hulk.... Yeah one may consistently feel stiffer, But marginally so, and I absolutely think they are so close that it is more about what fits your tempo. A point I made it in a different thread earlier, Tony Finau plays An ad-di shaft, much “softer” feeling imo than the tz4100m5 he plays in other clubs. All about the swing/shaft/club head Combo. Can’t just pick one imo

that being said, I think the materials used in the hulk just have a very refined expensive feel to it. Unlike any other, tz100m5 comes close

After a long hiatus from golf I'm back and went all in with these shafts (previously previously using old Graf blue in tour stiff and x for all my woods for years). Nothing that I tested previously had the elixir of tip stiffness and bend profile similar to the blue. Until now. I'm able to swing smoother with the same force and couldn't be more content. I went with a different approach to driver shaft length (old 43.5" to new 45") in 6.5 60g and the rarely used 3 wood (old (42.5" to 44") in 70g 6.5 tipped 1" (5 wood 42" old to 43" new) 70g 6.5 tipped 1.25".

My yoga, weight training and surfing have kept my fitness level about par even with having the 3 year layoff. So the curve to get back into it was minimal.

This shaft is on another level.

Yes, spin/launch was similar during testing for me. Dispersion and feel we’re better with the Smoke Green for me . Similar results in both 60 and 70 gram options. Both PX and Ventus are very good options.

Thanks, I’ve been playing the Ventus 7X in the TM Sim. Was thinking about ordering the new T1100 to try it out but I assume the results will be very similar. The Ventus 7X with the Sim head is the lowest spinning setup I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. I’ve gained considerable distance, but if only I could hit it straight every time.

I am testing out the hzrdus green right now in a sim. So far I am not convinced the sim is any longer than my g410 lst with T1100. I think the T1100 may be the better shaft for me. But I should put them in the same head to compare...the green feels firmer than the T1100 to me. As far as I would guess looking at profile, the green in TX is stiffer than the ventus black. The green is stout. Feels like a modus 130x, butt and mid is very stiff, tip is still firm...the T1100 has more of a stiff butt firm mid and stiff tip with more counterbalance than the green.
