I would guess (and hope) the 770 is a slightly smaller and slightly less hot version of the 790, targeting a slightly better ball striker that isn’t going get the consistency/tight distance dispersion out of the 790’s that they would want.

ie Making a club that performs as well as the 760 but looks as good as the 790...fingers crossed!! (Full disclosure: above is the club I want so this is my wishlist, not my know list)

If so, I doubt the 770 would have foam in more heads than the 790 unless TM invented ‘Dispersion Foam’, ‘Players Foam’ or a slightly dodgy sounding ‘Feel Foam’... none of which I would have an issue with

What I do know is the new range will be that little bit extra special compared to previous models and a lot special compared to other brands.

I was about to putt the trigger on a 790/760 combo set, but now I'm going to wait--I think the 770s might be the answer. The 770s seem like they might fall in between the 760s and 790s in terms of performance and blade length etc. which sounds ideal for what I'm looking for. I'm getting impatient though, as I was hoping to get new irons before the end of the season.

Yep! I just hope the top line is much thinner than the current 790 and 760. That would be the only turn off for me and push me towards the P7MC.

$1400 for 7 clubs is $200/club, which is what I said.

P790’s are $175 per club. From the other thread that’s what the P770’s will be as well.

Don’t want to turn this into a bend/bounce thread, but, I’d love to couple the 770 and MC into my set of TWs (very weak lofts). Anyone have any thoughts on how much bending if loft is too much? Would love to go 770 4 iron and MC, 5, 6. TW 4 iron is 25 degrees. Hmmmm. Thx to anyone who might help!

Well the lofts are mostly the same as the 760s except 4i, .5* weaker. BUT the offsets are more than the 760s except the PW. Sorry to see that but much less than the 790s which I couldn't use and gave them to a close friend. Hopefully The look won't show it much. More important to me than the topline. So we'll see. I have a full set coming in early Sept. I can always add a little loft to decrease the offset. Maybe turn the 3i to a 4i and the 4i to a 5i. down to where I want and then drop one club to get the progression . We'll see.

Specs look nice. Offsets to my current z-forged set. I've been wanting another set of TM irons. Maybe the 770s are it.
