The SEL is better than the other options. You are not stuck buying the whole set I bought mp20 and didn't take the three iron, I could have ordered any individual club I want. Not sure of what the complaint is there.

At least they are trying vs in the past where they just make the same set every year in lefty. If I were them I'd rotate with a forged, next cycle tour, next cycle SEL then restart. But to me SEL is a fine compromise to me as I'd always be looking for the tours.

I was ready to buy leftie 921 Tours.......mizuno just lost a loyal customer (for this year at least) might come back next year for the MPs again....Love my MP-20s SEL (since the breakout is at 4 iron, not 5 iron)

No, it is a stand alone wedge with degrees. I am seriously stocked about it, and will probably put some right in the bag.

Can you share what loft range the new wedges fall under? 54°-62° only, or all the way down to 46° like usual. Thanks Q!

As I lefty, I’m still excited to pull the trigger on the SEL. We’ve wanted some from of the tour for so long and 6-p is far better than nothing. Additionally, I’m guessing the forged are going to look smaller and have a bit less offset (thinking like ping i210) and if that style iron is good enough for the pros we could probably benefit from some help up there too. Also, if they don’t work, maybe I’ll do something like Tommy Fleetwood (srixon 4-5, tiger blades 6-9). Regardless, very grateful to have a shot at the tours through most of the bag.

50-60 for sure. I am not 100% sure past that. I saw just a single wedge.

one cool feature is the center of gravity will be in the exact center of the face.

I thought the new wedge is 54° SW thru 62° LW with the same loft/bounce combos as the T20.

Those new P770s are very tempting. I’ll be pre ordering either the P770, 921F, or 921 Tour. To me the tours look a little more playable this go around. Looking forward to hearing what Voch has to say today!

Ah, same COG idea behind Zipcore. I’ll say this, because I’ve played the S series a lot and I’m sad to see it go. When I compared Zipcore to S18 back to back (on mats), I was much less consistent with S18 than I expected. Don’t know if COG had anything to do with it.

On lofts, Mizuno’s usual wedge lineup is 46.06 51.08 56.10 56.14 60.10 60.06 then bend two degrees to cover the range. With each JPX line offering a gapper, I could see them dropping the 46 and 51 entirely, or moving to a 52.08 base head, giving them a mid bounce option at 54.10.

And (sorry if this has been asked already), same micro-grooves as T20? Thanks again.

Depends on the level, it is more pronounced once you want to play "tour" clubs like blades or CBs.
