Getting back in to walking 18......my shoes arent cutting it.

Yea I take out the footbeds and put in superfeet. Definitely increases the comfort.

Same here; I've got the green Superfeet insert in ALL my shoes, golf, running and casual. Went to them many years ago after a long bout of plantars fascitis in both feet, and they've made all the difference for me. I don't think very many shoes have an arch support that is adequate for somebody with even an average arch, much less a high one. 6 plus miles is a long way to walk without really, really good arch supports, and most shoes, even very expensive ones, just don't have that.

OP, what you are getting here is everybody's personal recommendation of what shoe fits their feet. The reason that there are so many opinions is because people's feet are different, and what feels great to one guy is going to cripple another. I can't wear Nikes or Footjoys; my foot is too wide across the toe box, but narrow at the heel, so that a extra wide shoe feels too loose. So I run in Asics, and walk golf courses in Eccos, but that's for MY foot.

My best advice would be to get to a REALLY good running store and let somebody who knows what they are doing take a look at your foot, and work from there. Shoes of different brands are cut on different lasts, and a size 12 in one shoe won't be the same as another. Maybe find a running shoe that feels right, and then head to the golf store and see if you can find a golf shoe that is cut the same way.

And don't sleep on the idea of arch supports, ok? They're expensive, especially on top of a new $150+ pair of shoes, but your feet are a REALLY bad place to save money if you plan to walk a golf course.

Just picked up a few pairs. These are true linkswear outsiders. Older model but brand new via eBay. Just have them on to try in the house first. My feet have been having issues. I have bunions and also if hot I get blisters on heels easily. i have a pair of true linkswear knits in transit also. If the knots feel good I’m going to buy the true linkswear feels. Any more feedback on this brand? I’ve been wearing Footjoy classics for a Long time. Love the traditional look.

ive also been trying some different socks. Bought a pair of kentwood tour series and tried in the house this week. Very comfy. Not cheap but if they work I’m ok with splurging for a few more. Also tried a pair of balega. This is what I wore a few weeks ago with footjoys that killed my feet.

Yes. I wear my Roshes when walking, and my Dryjoys Tour when riding.

I find the sneaker-like shoes are better for walking, but the more traditional "golf" shoes have more stability and help my footwork.

My wife works for a company that makes socks, but I wear Kentwool on the course. Never had a blister.

Thanks. I haven’t yet tried in the course. Do they breathe well? They seem very comfy and padded. Where do you buy? Tried a New pair on eBay For $12. Still a lot for a pair of socks but.....

I think wool is a great fabric. They keep me warm in the winter, but not hot in the summer. I think you will find that they are well worth the price.

This. I only wear cleats when I’m on the range or playing for money. Otherwise I’m wearing sneakers with great grip.

I’ve dealt with Achilles tendinitis and gout over the last several years. Pretty sure it was influenced by 1) wearing worn out shoes for too long, 2) picking up cheap, ill-fitting, zero-drop golf shoes off eBay.

Since then, I’ve found Skechers Elite to be a comfortable fit, pretty neutral so they work well with my orthotics. Been walking in FJ SL Pro this year, plenty of toe structure and the excellent heel comfort. Skechers Pro when I ride.

Travis Mathew’s Cuater Moneymakers are the most comfortable golf shoes I’ve ever had. Maybe even more comfortable than most of my any shoes as well.

I also am a FJ fanboy, so I say Pro SL with some custom inserts, work wonders for me, I have some issues after an accident in Afghanistan while on active duty, knee surgeries and back surgeries, the Pro SL simply work for me, classics, tour X the all are very comfortable, that said, I always use a different insole...

anyone one gone from adidas boost golf shoes to anything different that’s better for walking recs?

The Nike ZITs are the most comfortable shoe for walking that I've tried. The Adidas Code Chaos were second. However, the grip and lateral stability on the ZITs were horrible for me. The Code Chaos had much better grip and stability, but not quite as good as I like.

Given that, the Nike React Vapor 2's and the Adidas Tour 360 XT Primeknits provide the best combo of lightweight comfort, traction, and stability for me for walking.

I do prefer the React technology over the Boost for comfort, but I would happily wear either.

I have boost 360 Xt, Truelinkswear TL-01, Ecco Biom Hybrid 3 BOA and Adidas CodeChaos all currently. the CodeChaos are the best walking shoe of all of these and the best walking shoe I have had yet.

I walk pretty much every round and the most comfortable shoes I've worn are the UA HOVR Drive and the ASICS Gel-Course Duo. Of the two, I would give the edge to the ASICS because of the BOA lacing system. The HOVR Drive is a great shoe, but the laces loosen easily.
