Translation:

At that moment (15), Kakko began his magical charge, when he made birdie. He then sunk a fantastic eagle from a greenside bunker on 16, and capped it off with a hole in one on the 17th. Suddenly Kakko found himself the lead by 1, before he bogeyed the 18th to put him in a playoff. On the second playoff hole, Kakko made birdie and took the title.

So Birdie-Eagle-ACE-bogey-par-birdie. Not as flashy as walk off albatross, but not half bad.

I think that holing a 6-iron for a second shot really makes it an eagle on a par 4, not an albatross on a par 5. Just sayin. The hole plays at 478 or 495, which is really a par 4 these days. It's listed on the card as 4/5.

Anyway, one heck of a finish. One fantastic shot.

Yeah that’s cool, but no I don’t think it’s the best finish ever. A guy named Sammy schmitz made a walkoff ace on a par 4 in the 2015 MidAm at Johns Island West.
