Updated pics in the first post.

Got some lightly used TEE CNC forged irons off eBay, coincidentally from a WRX member, and picked up a matching new 2-iron along with them. Regardless, these are beautiful so just thought I'd share some pictures:

Thanks. I "blame" it all on Golf WRX. I stumbled across the site a couple months ago while doing research on drivers and since then I've somehow updated all my clubs except my putter (which will not be going anywhere for a long time). The purchases just sort of snuck up on me, lol.

To be honest, I haven't even hit that yet - I just got the XVS6 and F7M2 installed into R9 tips yesterday, so I'm hoping to get out to try them both this weekend.

Right now, the current gamers are the HD6 for the driver and the Epic for the 3W.

Thanks. I've been wanting to try both the Blue and White, although I think the White may be too low launching for me. The other thing has been the price - it hasn't been easy to find good deals on those shafts (the good deals that do come by I often miss... everyone else seems to me in the market for those too) because I'm not looking to get a new shaft just to take for a test run, but I'm sure I'll find one sooner or later. It never ends does it? :D

Hey Puppetmaster,

Love the bag! I'm impressed that you still carry a 2 iron. How do you like them? And I see you play the Epic FW too - sometimes I wish I had the X, I seem to spin it too much off the tee even though I tipped it a little bit. I loved the R9 when I tried it, and it seems these days you can find some nice exotic shafts with R9 tips attached that don't go for very high exactly for that reason.

Sweet setups. I love the looks of the x-proto's. One of the best looking muscle backs in regards to shape, muscle design, and finish. From what I've read on here, they play and feel just like how they look. Still contemplating buying a set. How do you like the Black Golds? How do they play?

Thanks. The X-Protos are amazingly soft, but the ball still gets out there like it should. They are also not as difficult to hit as they might look. The Epic FW in X actually still spins more than my F7M2 but in some way I like the weight and kick of the Epic better, although performance wise, I might have to say the F7M2 would be the better choice. I'm looking to try a Project X 8A2 in the 3W at some point in the spring. The R9 with XVS6 has been an absolute monster for me, longer than with the Fubuki and HD6, and better feeling than the HD6. The HD6 was probably had the tightest dispersion and the Fubuki had the best feel, so the XVS6 is the best compromise. I always think it is funny how people say the R9 is short, because once you find the right shaft, it's hard to find anything longer and more consistent. For me, of course. :)

Thanks dude. The X-Protos play as advertised, as I mentioned above. Amazing feel, consistent trajectory, and good looks. My only gripe is that the forgings are so soft that they nick easily. I'd hate to have to play with iron head covers, although I probably might have to if I want to preserve their looks. The BGs are on the heavy side, but if you like S300s/X100s, you will like these. To me, they are kinda like X100s but with a tad more feel.

That's interesting that the XVS6 gives you the best performance - to each his own, I guess. I haven't experimented with enough shafts to really know, because I'm a lefty. OEMs don't care to include good clubs with shafts for lefties to try.. I was able to try the R9 TP at a Golfsmith TM demo day with the F1 X and it felt incredible to me.
I'm looking to get a new shaft eventually for my 3 wood, and I wanted something around the same weight but with less spin.. I can't feel it kick but right now I made my swing plane slightly different. I'll stick it out, but if I do end up with a steeper plane I'll need a new driver and 3 wood shaft. Have you ever hit the 8M2?

I think the bend characteristics of the Voodoo VS series just seem to suit my swing, I tried the tour issue XVS9 in a hybrid and loved it too. I haven't tried the 8M2 but if I do go heavier with a Matrix for my 3W, it'll be the HD8 or HD9 because the HD series seems to be kind to me as well.

How do the HD series play? I see quite a few on here that use them.. the only thing I would be worried about is that it would be too boardy. I love the mid-upper 80s weight for a 3 wood shaft, so it would seem post-trim the HD9 might be nice at least for the weight I was looking for..

I think its a great shaft. It is a stiff tip but it doesn't feel boardy to me at all. I don't know what the overall bend characteristics are but I think the HD6 feels better than the F7M2. People aruond here have always said that when Matrix says low spin, they mean it, and I have confirmed that on both shafts that I have. I'm definitely a believer now after hitting these two and an X-Con 6, even though that just launched way too high for me.

Supertri is the best driver I've ever hit. Long and straight. Put the Oban Devotion in and I'm getting some crazy roll out with this combo. Not sure yet if the low launch angle is really optimized for me yet. Don't you have to update the bag to include the new putter? :partytime2:

Thanks, I've been hearing good things about it. To be honest, I'm hitting the R9 so well that anything longer has to be illegal, lol. I just got a good deal on the ST and wanted to give it a shot. I wonder how well the XVS7 will fare in it... I'll tinker with the weights and hope I won't have to blow more money on a lower spin shaft for the ST... it never ends huh?

And I'll update the pics and WITB when the putter is in hand, I don't like having the info is up unless I actually already have the item. Plus, I might have a few more new things between then and now. :D

Haha, whatever man, the scorecard doesn't care - I'm still gonna be putting down the same crap scores I always have. ;) I don't think the SD is for me, which is why I went ahead on the ST. I don't hit the ball that high, so I'd rather to be able to maintain some launch and carry. I think a SD in 10.5 degs might work, but I'm not looking to pay the premium on one of those just yet. The ST with the right weight and shaft set up should be just as good. As it is, it is going to have to be amazing to knock the R9 out of my bag.
