How to plan a week long Myrtle Beach Vacation..?

Help?
Hey guys,

I'm trying to plan a week long vacation down at Myrtle Beach, ideally rent a condo or a house, it's for 4-5 people.

Ideally, would also like to play the best courses in the Myrtle Beach area.

Question is, there is so much information out there, does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to put this all together?

Anyone know of any agents that have access to rental properties and can bundle tee times?

Thanks guys :russian_roulette:

I don't mean to be lazy but search Myrtle under "Golf Outings" or "Courses" under the review section....you'll get more than you bargained for. Good luck.

Head to www.golfholiday.com and start with their new quick quote system. Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday is a collective marketing arm for most of the golf properties in the region. They won't steer you wrong.

If you call them they will be most helpful. If you are on Twitter look up MyrtleGolfGuy - he works for them and can send you in the right direction.

There are some great deals on villas for groups. Try Legends or Myrtlewood for example. Very centrally located and easy access to a lot of other properties.

The Insider is correct about Myrtle Beach Golf Holidays, they will help you with everything and anything MB related.

I've been to Myrtle several times, and If I was going to spend a week there, I'd go for one of the Condo's at either Legends or Barefoot Resort. Barefoot you will have to drive a bit if you play the south part of the Beach, but it's worth it. Great courses at Barefoot and nice facilities, Legends is a bit more centrally located and very nice as well.

I stayed at Myrtlewood once, it was just Ok, nothing really wrong with it, but it's not a WOW type of place. But very reasonably priced.

We just got back from an extended weekend (5 rds/3 nts) using Myrtle Beach Golf Directors (www.myrtlebeachgolfdirectors.com). I doubt we played the "best" courses but they were extremely nice and we stayed in a condo at another course. Everything went smooth, the guys were super helpful, and the rates were ridiculous.

As others have said there are no less than 8-million services online that can help you.

No need to go condo or house as most of the hotels have multi-room suites with a full kitchen...cheap.

I go with a group of 28 guys every year. Four guys in a three-bedroom suite. They even include a full breakfast each day in a nearby restraurant...

It all depends on your budget...determine that first and then go for it.

If you haven't been before, be aware that Myrtle is spread out. It's a 1.5 hr drive from one end to the other. You will want to put together a grouping of the best in either the North, South, or middle. There are more than a few dives to stay in, so I always go to the Marriott now. It's tough to go wrong with the golf, but Grande Dunes is my fav.

I live two hours away and go there often. My folks had a weekend place there for ten years. You have thousands of hotel rooms to choose from or you can go the condo route. I will suggest some of the best courses. True Blue, Caledonia, and Glen Dornach are must plays if you want the best. Not too far behind are The Witch and The Thistle (links style). You play these five and you will have played five of the very best. With over 100 area courses, there are many that I have not played yet. But these five are absolutely outstanding. Be sure to visit the Martins Golf store. They have one in N and S Myrtle. Huge stores filled with anything you could imagine. They also have a tee time booking/info desk as soon as you enter.

Thanks for all the responses so far, will definitely heed them, tried the quick quote system as well.

Have any of you stayed at the marina inn by marriott or the oceanwatch villas by marriott? I am looking for a very nice villa with two bedrooms and a full kitchen.
