I had a terrible experience with Fubuki 73s (tipped .5") but I'm thinking of giving it another shot in X-flex. I love how Mitsubishi's balance and feel. I've gotten pretty good performance out of Blue & Whiteboards. I've also found great consistency with the Xcon-7 in my Adams Dual Can 4350. Is the Xcon-7 one of the lower "ballspeed" shafts in Matrix-es line? I've found that it doesn't quite have the snap of an F7m2 I've recently been hitting (or of the Whiteboard, Blueboard, or for that matter, my 3 wood - Exotics w/ Code 7). I haven't found the right head for the F7m2 yet, but there's some potential there. What should I expect between Fubuki v. Xcon-7? Is the Xcon-7 a specialty shaft of some sort which costs ballspeed in the name of control?

Any and all input appreciated!

xcon 7 is a beast, no doubt about it. i love the weight, stoutness and launch. the only comment id make is that because of its super low torque id start with one frequency lower than your normally play ... so if you're X start w/ Strong, Strong go w/ Stiff, etc etc. you can always tip it later if you want it stiffer.

I agree with Jdunc, and would add that the XCon 7 is less adaptable to various swings than most others in the line. It's not low-ballspeed but does require a specific kind of late, lagged release to work at its best. Better for hitters than swingers and has a stout feel - sort of like .335 mate for the PX iron shafts perhaps.

If the F7 is out of the question, I really like the HD7 better than the XCon 7, or for guys who like the BB73, the Code 7. F7 is in a league of its own, imo.
