UST Axivcore Red 69g X flex graphics measurement please

Recommended Posts

Just collected my custom order driver from Titleist this afternoon (And not that im untrusting or anything !) but Titleist where kind of 'funny' about them tipping it for me.

So im looking for a measurement from the tip to where the black graphics start please so i can work out if they've listened to my instructions or not.

Or measurements from another driver with a known tipping and insertion depth would also be awesome.

Thanks in advance...........
You could work it out with calipers or a micrometer. The tip is .335 OD and the parallel section of the tip is 4". If you can run the calipers 2.5" up the shaft, the insertion depth is 1.5" untipped.
Thanks - I did wonder the same.

Is this very accurate / easy to do in reality with manufacturing tolerances, paint thickness etc ? Also the shaft must gradually taper from tip section into the 'main shaft' so would be quite hard to get an exact measurement.

I was also led to believe the 909D2 has a 1.25" insertion depth not 1.5" as you said.........

1.25" doesn't sound right. From what I have seen, the 909 d2 would be 1.5".
All things being equal, you should have some portion above the hosel that will be parallel if untipped. By doing some simple math, you can work out the amount of tippng (if any) you may have if the micrometer or caliper doesn't fit in the same position directly above the ferrule.
From what I also understand, the stock Axivcore Red does require (or at least is not recommended) for the driver, unless of course, that is what you have specified.

My question is in response to this (Below).May make it all a little clearer, and show why im a little dubious as to the exact tipping. They were certainly 'sketchy and unconvincing on the phone TBH

Ah yes. I remember originally reading through the other thread. It also had me scratching my head until sparks came out! Trying to get the one shaft to play to the same characteristics as one installed in another head with a different install depth is tricky at the the best of times.
A general peruse around the forum may yield better results than from a dabbler like me! The same peruse around the forum may also get you paired with the good old 905R, along with your favourite bore depth too!!
I wish you luck - for the record, I suggest that a 1.5" tip may be in order, based on the old 3" sole to top of hosel rule of thumb.

Im an ex Pro (Arent they all hey....) and am now an Engineer by trade,so im fairly qualified and experienced to re-shaft myself if Titleist havn't tipped correctly. And that is what i'll do if im unhappy with it in its current guise.I wanted a brand new head anyway,so nothing lost....

After the "rubbish" they gave me on the phone (According to the 'real' bore-depth and other measurements Joe Kwok and various others gave me by PM) im just really curious to see what they have actually done.

At the end of the day it may play fantastic - but im still curious and cannot understand why Titleist would supply me with one full-bore inserted in the 907,and yet seem reluctant to apply the same to the 909 i want ? Hardly going to be good advertising if i turn up for this weekends comp, hit it like a dog and slag them off is it ? Makes no sense to me at all.

Little things such as me specifying a D2 swing-weight at 44.5" playing length, and yet the club arriving to me with the head still having cellophane on (And hence the weight-port covered) just make my mind tick more than is comfortable...

Thanks for your help.

*******Anyone got any sure-fire measurements on an AxivCore 69g Red in X flex ?????
done a bit of searching and turned up with this mate.

assuming the red has similar measurements, of course.
Thanks very, very much for that

If those figures for the black are also correct for the red - ive got 22.25" of yellow above the hosel as delivered to me.

So 22.25" of shaft + 1.25" of insertion = 23.5".Taking that from the stock 24.5" means they have tipped it 1" (Which i was told is the maximum they would tip it).
