How would a X100 flex shaft compare to a DG wedge flex shaft used in a wedge? Would the x100 be a lot stiffer?

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. My guess is wedge flex is about S300.

IMHO, simply a "feel" thing for wedges. When I used X-100 in my irons, I wanted my wedges to have the same feel so I kept X-100 in those as well. Now I use S-300, and prefer S-300 in my wedges.

Most good players seem to prefer their wedge shafts to "feel" a little softer. Personal preference.

Others here claim the DG "wedge flex" is an S200, to give a little softer feel on less-than-full shots. I've bought off-the-rack wedges in the past where the stock shaft was an S400.

I play DG X100's in my wedges. I have used the shortest shafts, which is now 37 inches in raw length, but prefer to use DG X100's in a slightly different way.

If I have to buy a modern set of irons which the shortest shaft is 37 inches long, then I will use what is designated as the 8 iron shaft. So a soft stepped twice X 100, which works out roughly an S400 shaft with a stiffer tip.

In 1991, I bought 5 complete sets of DG x100 irons; complete for me being at that time, 1-pw, and a sand and lob wedge shaft. As at that time I did play a 1 iron and continued to do so up until 2005.
I am down to the parts of a set after all these years. The DG sets of that period of time are much stiffer than a set that is purchased today. The shortest shaft you could buy then was 35 inches long, and progressed on up by half inch increments.

I have tried, rifle, rifle spinnner, DG S300, DG S200, DG S400, Cleveland Action wedge shaft, Ping shafts, DG X100 sensicore, FST HI Rev, and KB's. To me, the DG X100 feels the best, but more from the fact, I have been playing these shafts since 1986.

the reason I do: with DG X100's I know when the shaft will kick, and how I need to swing, and what the ball will do. Its predictable, and how I guage all my partial shots. It is just what is good for me.

'Wedge Flex' Dynamic Gold shafts vary depending upon the manufacturer and model concerned. They are typically S-flex Dynamic Gold shafts and are usually 200,300 or 400 sub-categories.

As with many other golfers, I'm an advocate of using slightly softer shafts in my two most lofted wedges. As a long-time X100 man through the iron set, I prefer S400 shafts in my sand and lob wedges; two clubs where I play the majority of my shots with a less-than-full swing. I've tried matching X100 shafts in the clubs, for the sake of consistency, but felt that they lack feel. When I tried stock S200 shafts in off-the-shelf Vokey wedges, they lasted about ten minutes before I whipped them for my usual S400s. The difference betwen an S200 and an S400 is slight at best, but it was enough, in my hands, that I could discern a change in feel that was enough to affect my confidence in the clubs. For other players the same difference may be imperceptable or something that they easily dismiss. There's no right or wrong answer really. As with a lot of golf-related issues it all comes down to personal preference.

Performance aside, there's certainly a difference in feel between S300 or S400 Dynamic Gold and an X100 model. For me, they flight the ball pretty similarly in a set of irons but the feel is entirely different. I like the stouter feel of an X100 when I'm hitting an iron, but I prefer the softer feel of a S400 when I pitching or chipping.

It all comes down to personal feel. I have rilfe tour flighted shafts 6.5 in all my irons from 3 to my lob wedge. I like to have a consistent feel all the way through my set.
