Snake Eyes putter (Pure Balance). Sure as hell not what I would have guessed when I bought the head, but completely changed my putting. Went from being as non-confident as you can be over a putt to feeling like everything is going in. [b]Benched my Mills and 2 Camerons along with 3 Graces[/b]. Unreal. Cost a whopping 14.00. With shaft and grip have a total of about 25.00 in it.

I popped into a local pawn shop on my lunch break Christmas Eve, and walked out with:
Ping G5 9 degree driver w/ Aldila NV 65-S 350 shaft
Titleist 15 degree 906F2, with matching shaft
Titleist 20.5 degree 975F
Ping I3 Blades 3-PW with Ping 350 Series stiff shafts
Titleist SM56-10 BV Vokey wedge
Ping G5i Craz-e putter
Ping G2i B60 putter
All in a sweet white Ping stand bag, loaded with 2 doz. Pro V1x's.
Now I know you are going to tell me that these are probably hot, but in S Florida these shops have to see picture ID, and get a fingerprint in order to take stuff in. Anyway, the owner had them marked $300.00, I pulled out 2 $100.00 bills, handed them to him, and walked out the door with the clubs. Bad news is, I got reamed royally when the little princess noticed them in the back of HER SUV. OUCH! Now I have a sell a set of Ping Eye 2's BeCu's and a set of Tour Classic BeCu 1-SW with new grips ASAP.

Hummm... A REALLY tough one. I absolutely LOVE my Scratch Smoked Satin EZ-1's. They're #1 just b/c they are sooooooooo sweet looking and feeling. My 9015d's are the best drivers I've ever played. But, my Idea Pro 14.5 Hybrid-Fairway might just take the cake for "best" purchase since it was almost out of the blue and I'm hitting it as well, if not better, than anything else in my bag.

Now, there are two really good purchases for 2009!

2. Scratch EZ-1's (in my opinion the BEST golf purchase I have ever made).
3. A putter fitting and having my Scratch Tour Prototype putter adjusted.

I finally found a like new replacement set of old Mizuno blades that I like, but the best piece of golf equipment I bought all year turned out to be a $12 Penley shaft...a Stealth 70 X...off Ebay. I hit just shy of 70% of fairways during the last half of last season over 18 rounds, including a 76 at Tobacco Road that was likely the best driving round I've ever had.

And, oddly enough, the shaft is in a head that I NEVER thought I'd have in the bag...a Nike Ignite 460 of all things.

I picked up 3 more of the same shaft from the same seller later in the season, and at some point this next year I'll try a couple of other .350 hosel heads, just to see if I can find another one that's close.

I never enjoyed golf so much as I did driving the ball last year.

Just picked up two NEW R7 Limited drivers with headcovers/wrenches. This sucker is a fairway finder. I thank TM for producing so many drivers at once, because this one was a sleeper! I thought I'd hate the slightly triangular shape...all love now, after seeing my fairways hit double, since acquring. Happy New Year!
