Thanks buddy - not sure why but the pictures came out rubbish despite a good camera and numerous attempts ! (Reckon its me.lol !)

Anyway - i think you have the same model available in the US,but it seems to be a different finish.Yours looks more 'gold satin' whilst ours is a "....Tuscan nickel finish".Kind of similiar but not quite as Dark as the 2009 Vokey wedges.
sweet set up, how do u like the 3 wood? heard the v steel is one of the best 3 woods ever, many pros still carry it on the bag
Not had a chance to hit it yet with the snow and deep frosts in the UK.My course has effectively shut itself since early December and everywhere else is the same.

But yes,the 200 was revered, and the V-Steel probably more so.Really looking forward to giving it a bash.....

Nothing much to add from me apart from a putter cover i picked up from ebay for $5.50 new ! Shame the seller charged me over $20 to ship it to the UK.

Still, little things give alot of pleasure - just ask my wife
My kind of bag...nice set of players cavity backs, old(er) school 3 wood and a big headed driver cut down to 44.5. Great pics as well, I can tell you've been a solid player during your golfing life.
Sorry,missed your post.

Thanks for the kind words on the bag.Lets just say i have a good feeling about it and im hoping its the best its been in a while.

And playing wise im (Just !) managing to hold on to a scratch handicap in the UK despite playing less golf and enjoying more time with my three young boys :D

My first ever Accuflex shaft - glad i made a good choice !

No issues at all with it so far, mind you ive only hit it like 20 times in anger.Very solid and smooth feeling and is a great colour in the sunlight. Was a very, very reasonable price here in the UK too.

I LOVE the 3 wood! I picked up a 4 wood when they first came out (I think back in 2001) and the head hasn't left the bag since! I can't find a more explosive, solid feeling, fairway wood head anywhere. I've had a few that I thought could take it's place, but it can't. It looks awesome refinished. Where did you have it done?

I noticed you don't have a high bounce wedge. Is the 58/04 OK with fluffy sand? Nice set up by the way.

I had that Taylor Made 200 3 wood, excellent and very long. I also have the 909D2 driver.

In the bag since 2001....WOW - That really is a keeper ! Shame with the weather here in Sunny England (Snow etc) i havnt even hit it yet.

I got the re-finish done by a local Pro near me.He's done a great job and it cost £23 (Just under $40 perhaps).Bargain !!!

My most local course is about 10 miles inland but plays like an inland-links.Tight roasted looking fairways, and certainly not lush green grass.Ive been a member / messing round here for 20 years so have played alot of golf there and gotten used to needing / using low bounce wedges.Maybe because of this im more of a sweeper than a digger.

Hence over the years my bunker play has 'adapted' to low bounce wedges too i guess. So much so i actually prefer a low bounce wedge out of sand these days.

What outed the 200 series for you ?

That makes sense about the low bounce wedge. As far as the 200 series 3 wood, I really think I should have never sold it. Just the usual pursuit for the perfect club and now I have a 909F2.

Love the bag! It's good to see someone who gets what they feel fits their swing, whatever the manufacturer. How do you like the driver? I've been seriously looking at getting a D2, and the Axivcore Red is somewhat in my sights. How does it play? Now obviously I won't get my X tipped an inch, but I would be getting X.

D2 with Axivcore is a great combo for me.Not the longest perhaps - but up there amongst them.Axivcore is the mid-low spin, boring trajectory,sweet-feeling bargain of the moment in my eyes.....

Might be 3 putters in quick succession, but you just cant curb my enthusiasm: Im REALLY excited about this one !!!

Im aiming to still be an Utley stroke guy,but im going to experiment with a larger headed, high MOI mallet rather than the traditional toe-hang blade.

Im uber excited because this new Odyssey White Ice 7 has a much better feeling and firmer insert,Black Nickel finish is sweet, its 360g in weight, and ive managed to tweak the double bend shaft so that the offset is perfect,it sits great and not toed-in like some,is perfectly face balanced and is about 4-5 degrees flat.

And if you've tried tweaking a double-bend putter shaft on a face balanced model yourself, you'll absolutely know its no mean feat getting ALL those parameters correct...

Only simple modification was to infill the 3 aiming dots uptop in white to stand out a little more, and my favourite Golf Pride Tour Tradition grip:

Nothing hugely exciting im afraid - especially if your from American Shores.

However, these are incredibly rare in the UK; not being released here until mid-March:

Wow ! Long time no update here (Mainly as ive been actually playing golf, not just talking about it).

No changes for me until this week anyway:

HYBRID: TM Head started rattling. So i spent 5 hours trying to remove it to no avail, despite trying ever method known to man.So i bought a Cleveland Launcher 18 degree and swapped shafts over. Went great in todays comp...

005-5.jpg

004-7.jpg

3 WOOD: Despite a great head, the 3 wood wasnt performing; i felt due to the shaft. So swapped it out last week for something stouter, firmer feeling and something that should suit me better.Still not hit it as yet however:

007-2.jpg

008-4.jpg

PUTTER: Dont ask !!!! Just note im using one of these as from yesterday:

003-7.jpg

002-7.jpg

And ive joined a new club.Further to travel but so far so good. GREAT links course thats very old, very tough and very raw ! Dont join here if you think your gonna post scores to bolster your ego:

I just use foam-filled sanding blocks. They come in a variety of grades and are great for all sorts of odd jobs on golf clubs:

010.jpg

I usually give them a slight rub down after every couple of rounds to keep them 'tip-top'. Like sanding wood....you need to "go with the grain". You'll soon figure out what that means, and which way is the 'best' way to go on what part of the club.

And no,i dont touch the faces or grooves at all.I only do the toe area at the front.

Good luck !
