New Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft

Has anyone here given this shaft a go yet? If so, any feedback on how it plays would be great. Looks like Brad Faxon has it in his driver for the Bob Hope this week.

Fujikura Motore Speeder

The best of both worlds

For years the 757 Speeder has been the best selling, most popular shaft on the PGA tour and one of the longest running shafts on the market. In 2009 Fujikura introduced the Motore F1 shaft to rave reviews (myself included) and instantly found a winner. The Motore F1’s four axis Rombax weave offered a straight, strong shaft. The Speeder offered a tour preferred ball flight. Combine the two and you have the Motore Speeder.

mspeeder.jpg

The Motore Speeder is a 7-axis technology. It has a quadra axis composite combined with a triax composite. That is a lot of techno mumbo-jumbo to me, but the results are hard to deny. I found it to feel similar to a Motore F1 with the flight of a Speeder. I I-mixed my Motore Speeder 7.0 stiff to give it a fair test against the regular Motore F1 and the other shafts in my quiver.

This shaft is a stunning red from tip to almost grip where is had a funky overlay graphic. This is considerably muted for Fujikura. The model I have is the Japanese color scheme, but from my talks with Fujikura, that is the only difference. The US version will be darker red, where as mine was a touch pinkish. I also like the graphic down the spine with the name, model and flex.

The one thing I did notice on install was that it did come out just a touch softer than the Motore F1. I tipped it an extra ½” to make up the difference. That seemed to do the trick. At the course, this shaft surpassed my expectations. I didn’t really think Fujikura could improve on the Rombax Z series and then came the Motore F1 which I also didn’t think there could be much room for improvement, and now the Motore Speeder.

The first thing that I noticed was a little bit higher ball flight with the Motore Speeder. The ball got up much quicker, but then carried very flat until it descended to the ground with very little spin. I am carrying my driver to about my normal places on the course, but it is so wet, I have seen some roll, but not much. I can’t wait to hit this on some hard dry ground to see the full potential on the roll.

It is also a very straight shaft. I am working on retraining myself to aim down the middle. I have always played a slight fade off the tee, but I find myself yelling at the ball to cut a little, but it doesn’t. It has been a very point and shoot sort of shaft. Mr. Divots had one installed in his Adams 9032ls and he says that he doesn’t have to think about his swing or worry about where to aim with this shaft. Just point and shoot.

The best part about this shaft has to be the improved feel; it is so smooth, at impact. It almost feels like it dampens vibrations at impact. This incredible soft explosion when you strike the ball is not like any other shaft I’ve hit in my driver.

This will be a winner for Fujikura in 2010. Ian Poulter already won with his the first week he put it in play, not too shabby. If you like the Motore F1 or the Speeder 757, you need to try the Motore Speeder. If neither one of those shafts worked for you, you might want to give this one a try, it is the best of both worlds and gets rid of what you don’t like in those shafts.

I was having trouble with my 3-wood (TM Vsteel) because the shaft had gotten too soft for me (Fujikura Rombax W 5W06).

My fitter suggested I try the Motore Speeder.

First of all, it looks gorgeous.

I put in the 6.0 and it fits my swing speed much better.

Without much practice time with it, I took it to the course and it performed on demand.

Tends to push whereas my previous Rombax W tended to draw, so I adjusted to aim straight instead of drawing it.

The reliability instills a confidence for me to pull it out for every par-5.

Back at the driving range, another pleasant surprise. My best shot is now at least 20-30 yards longer than before now that I have a flex in keeping w the faster swing speed.

It is also precise to aim, making pure hits easier to pull of.

Did I mention it looks gorgeous?

I've heard this shaft plays almost a full flex soft to the original Motore.

I haven't seen that I have a few of them in my office and my clubmaker profiled them against the F1 stiff. The Motore Speeder 7.0 stiff was stiffer all the way up and down the shaft than the F1. The 6.0 was a little weaker, except in the tip which was almost identical.

I have the F1 65S in a burner and a 9015.I recently hit the Motore Speeder in a similar weight not tipped. My friend and fitter put it in his new TEE driver....He drives it well with a 112 SS. Hitting these Pro trajectory bombs.. So I had to try it..It did not feel weaker at all.Just slightly softer.Which is good for me as I have a even tempo with a 100 mph SS.Like the OP stated my shots where arrow straight.I never hit the ball so staight in all my life.Just got up and kept going...The performance and the buttery smooth feel has me saving my pennies..I think this shaft will be the perfect fit for me with the 9015 as I hit it a little on the low side with 9.5 9015 with the low torque 65S.. A little help in the dispersion department would not hurt either....I really like that head but if it doesn't straighten out some it's gone..
My fitter was telling me he hit a NEWER Motore Speeder Blue proto in the TEE Head down at the range in Orlando last week.Guys said they had never seen anyone hit it so straight. One after the other..Must be something to it..

Does any one have an opinion as to how this shaft compares to diamana ahina, and/or Graphite Design AD DI tour? I like what I am getting out of my ahina, but I think that I can get a higher ball flight and still stay consistant with either the Speeder or AD DI?
My bet is that the Motore Speeder will give you a higher ballflight (probably any of them vs. Ahina) with good consistency. I am playing Motore Speeder in everything, and I LOVE these shafts. The consistency and smooth feel have been incredible differentiators for this series of shafts for my swing.

Motore Speeder VC 6.1 and 7.1 are great in the driver. Played both the 6.1 and 7.1 currently in my D2, and I have never driven the ball so well. Quite accurate, very consistent and great feel to the shaft.

Great! Thanks for the input everyone! I think that I am going to give both shafts a shot and figure out which one I like best. I have a swing speed of 114. Should I stick with the "stiff" or go to an "X" flex?
Definitely go with an X. I have a similar swing speed, and I play the X with very good results.

has anyone tried the 6.1 or 7.0 in a G15? these are sounding more and more up my alley.

I'm trying to figure out which one of these is right for me. way too many options to just drop 3 bills and hope its right so feedback is critical. 110 SS mid fade ball flight looking for something a little higher, but controllable in windy conditions. fast tempo and don't load low torque shafts well. titleist 910 D3 8.5 with a aldila rip 70x and a 910 3 wood with diamana ahina x stiff. which way do i go??? looking to put a 70+ gram in the 3-wood and a 60-69 gram in the driver, but which ones are right?????

I have pretty much switched over my setup to Motore speeder (see sig).. awesome shafts. I have not locked in my fairway woods yet.. trying both 8.1 and 8.2 in VR Pro LE and RBZ heads... The 6.2 and 7.2 TS shafts are awesome, but a little more boardy then the non tour spec shafts.

Hybrid : Adams LSP XTD

The VC Speeder TS launches and spins like the Ahina but has more feel to it. The non-TS launches and spins somewhere between the Kai'li and Ahina. It's a fantastic shaft and finally something worthy of the Speeder name.

The answer to better golf is hit it better, farther, and make more putts.
