I brought my Sunday Bag to Florida from Charlotte, NC to play with my mom... I'm a Teaching Pro, and play to a +1 HCP.... With that said, I brought a 56*, 9 Iron, 7 Iron, 5 Iron, 3 Iron, Hybrid, 3 wood and my putter... So all of 7 clubs... I was only going to play an executive course while I was visiting, so I didnt need anything more, and I didn't want to haul my staff bag with me for that...

Here we go.... So After playing a quick 18 at the executive course, I stayed behind and hit some balls at the range, I was working on shaping shot's and trajectory control... LOLOL.... So this kid comes up to me, maybe all of 15, tall lanky, and from what I could tell probably a good golfer, but...15. He obviously thought I was "Sir Shank-a-lot" or something, and an easy mark hitting military golf left-right, high-low... So this kid walks up full of p*ss and vinegar and asks me if I wanted to play a money game... HAHA, so I said sure! How much were you thinking?... He said he had $50 and wanted to play me straight up, and *HE* didn't give strokes... I Agreed, but not the executive course, I would only play the Champ course 7100 yards, and from the tips only... He looked at my bag of 7 clubs and smiled a devious little grin and said "cool, do you want to make it $100?" I "reluctantly" agreed... His smile was precious!

Let's just say this, after 6 holes I was 1 stroke down he was -1 and whistling a song just loud enough for me to hear. He was quite pleased with himself and wouldn't you know it, I "just couldn't make anything..." After 9 holes I pulled even by hitting a "lucky" 3 iron to 15 feet for eagle... (and yes, I sand bagged... opps how did I miss that 3 footer...). I told him he was a good golfer and he told ...ME... *HE* was holding back because I didn't have a full set of clubs... So I said, interesting.... Let's double the wager to $200 for the back nine, we can wipe the slate clean, and go from here since we are even... The same devious look, same glimmer of where he was going to spend all his hustled money entered his face… "Greed" for a lack of a better word "is good!!!..." And sure enough the cocky little kid who was full of P & V said "O.K.! It's on now!" When he said that I seriously almost laughed out loud. I may have failed to mention to him I've played that course 100 times, and usually only hit driver 1-2 times anyway, and since I was working the ball so beautifully on the range prior to his invitation (or attempted hustle) I was going to teach this little sh*t a lesson...

I birdied the first 3 holes on the back nine, to go -3, when he saw the "change" in my game he quickly realized he was screwed and his jig was up... His game fell apart and finished the back nine +7 while I finished my round out at -4 with a birdie on the 18th to shoot 32 and add a touch of sting to the whoopin...



He had all of $50 on him when it was time to pay up and said he didn't have the $200 to give to me... NOW he was a 15 yr old again… I told him it was ok, I'd wait for his parents to come and pick him up, and ask them for the rest of the money.... His cocky face turned from red in embarrassment to white from fear... LOLOL... I'm not a mean man, but when you choose to bet, and try to take advantage of someone, be prepared to lose... You may just pick the wrong guy…

His dad came to pick him up, I explained the situation, and his father offered a sincere apology for his son's careless and unsportsmanlike actions, he paid me the remainder of the $150 by check, and from the decibel increase in the car, I'm sure he tanned the little kid's hide at home.... I could tell he wasn't pleased to be covering his 15 yr olds gambling debts....

hah thats sweet. I can't believe the dad paid you! Thats great! Where in florida? Just wondering because my brother lives on an executive course in naples.
