Tourstage X Drive 405

anyone hit it?

I was just in my local golf shop the other day and came across the Tourstage X Drive 405. I loved the look of the head, but unfortunately no one in the shop had ever hit it.

I was just wondering if there might possibly be some thoughts about this 405 compared to the Bridgestone J33 R or the TM R7.

Well since I didn't get any replies I guess no one has seen it or played it. So what else was I to do but go and buy it! :(

Here's a couple of pics of my new Tourstage X Drive 405 w/ Graphite Design Tour AD-65 X Stiff compared to my R7. I really liked the looks of the head. Very similar to the R7 maybe a little deeper in the face. I'll see how it does tomorrow. :lol:

:beach: Played a round with pb808 today and it goes farther (10-15yrds) than his tour R7. Driver has a nice solid sound when hit. Good buy Reid-O!! :lol: :(

Just got my X-Drive 405 with Tour AD 65 in s-flex. Have 1 round and a couple range sessions with it. I've been playing a TM 580XD TP with fuji 771TA. The X-Drive hits it slightly lower and with less spin than the 580XD and I am getting more distance with the X-Drive. I was surprised with how forgiving the X-Drive was also. Mishits are still out there with the 580XD and sidespin was pretty minimal. I'll post more after I get a few more rounds with it.

I hit my 580XD quite a bit higher than my buddy's R7. I defintely hit the X-Drive a bit lower but I love the trajectory I am getting. And I think the Tour AD M-65 is a super shaft, also.

I'm still reluctant to play a driver that big so I went with the 365 X-Drive Pro Spec instead. Wait for it...here it comes: IT'S THE BEST DRIVER I'VE EVER HIT!!! :(

Seriously...it's nearly identically to shape and dimension of the 983K but is not as loud, much sweeter sounding--not as sweet as the J340 though. Doesn't have the 983K draw bias but is equally as long and similar ballflight. I have a 660TR in it and the ball gets up quick and easy. Super combo! :lol:

How does the 405 compare to the performance of the 983K, i.e. my 365 XDrive?

I haven't hit the 983K. Did you ever play the Tourstage RX-1 Type 315? That was always one of my favorite drivers and the XDrive 405 reminds me of a bigger version of it.

I loved the RX-1, too! Wish I never sold it. You should try the X-Drive 405!
