One wedge set-up

K, this may sound funny and trivial to most, but I am looking for ideas on a one, that's right, one wedge set-up this summer. I am not a great wedge player, and don't like having too many options. I do a lot of chipping with my 8 iron and PW anyway, but for some finesse shots/bunker play what would some suggestions be (ie...loft, grinds, club make)?

A thin sole high bounce , such as Callaway. This is what I use, very versatile.

I've been a Cleveland, Mizuno or Callaway X-Tour wedge player for years. Until recently I favored the Mizuno until I tried and purchased a Scratch wedge. I purchased a 56 degree forged 1018, with TNC grind. It's very versatile and a great feeling club. I would suggest sticking with a 56 degree Mizuno or Callaway (X Forged) if you don't go with Scratch.

This forum is amazing. I have been playing around with a 12 club bag. The most logical clubs to go included the gap wedge I used to carry (50*). I bent an Vokey SM 52* to 54*. Increased the bounce a little but it has proven to be able to handle 95% of the shots I needed the 50*/58* set up that I replaced it with.

I'm sure that there are a thousand reasons that this is all wrong, but like they say in backpacking - an ounce in the morning is a pound in the evening. I sure don't miss the weight and don't really miss the clubs.

I think this is a recipe for disaster since you are going to start relying on feel to gauge yardage. I have a 52/56/60 setup and with Full, 3/4, and 1/2 shots they cover me from about 95 yards down to 20. This way all I have to do is repeat the swing and let the wedge do the rest, rather than trying to come up with 9 different swings with one club.

PW, 50, 54 has worked pretty well for me. I recently added the 58 for very select situations but have not really had to use it yet.
