How can i get on?

I'm going to Hong Kong in a few weeks and was planning on bringing my sticks so I can spend a weekend at Mission Hills. Does anybody know what I need to do to get on and play there? It's going to be just me as I don't know anybody over there that plays golf. I don't mind joining another group as a single but I'm not sure if that's allowed or if people care over there. I also can get there myself and am perfectly fine taking the train from HK to SZ and crossing the border so I don't want to purchase an over priced package. I just want to get there play all day Saturday, sleep/relax, play Sunday and then head back to HK.

Any help?

I believe you have to have a member bring you in to play. I played there once, but I knew someone who was a member there. Guest fees aren't bad if a member brings you in.

Other from that, I believe you will have to purchase a stay-and-play package in order to get in to the private club without a member bringing you.

That's the extent of what I know based on my experience...

I live in HK at the moment and have played at Mission Hills before (Norman Course) when I had family in town. I was able to book a round there through a local golf travel agent ([url="http://www.golf007.com"]www.golf007.com[/url]) without any problem. I believe they have a member up there that they have a deal with. I rang him when I got there and he came out and signed us in. There didnt seem to be a problem.

The train to Shenzhen (Lo Wu) will leave you quite a ways from the courses (there are two clubhouses with a bunch of courses attached to each), probably an expensive taxi ride. They do run free shuttle busses from the centre of HK but I think you have to book ahead. The other alternative is to make your way to their parking lot in Yeung Long and get the free bus from there (that's what we did but there were 4 of us so it was pretty cheap). I heard recently that thier packages have come down in price quite a bit so it may be worth looking to that too. Let me know if you want me to to make a couple of calls to check out prices/options etc. Feel free to PM me if you need further info.

not been to mission hills yet- but, as suggested check out golf007.com for pkg deals. my friend did a 2 round/1 night deal to nansha (incl. ferry/cart etc etc) and all in worked out to about 200usd...

i'll be checking out palm island next weekend- using my amex plat card there's a special where a one day excursion incl. transport from central and back (along with caddy/cart/locker/green fees) runs about 130usd pp

one thing i've found in asia= it's more expensive and a pain in the butt to play on a regular basis vs. back in the states!

I arrive late night in HK on Oct 23.
Oct 24-25
Oct 31-Nov 1 (but I hear Halloween in HK is pretty fun)
Nov 7-8 (probably first choice for me right now)
I depart HK Nov 9.

I also heard that the proshop at Hui Hua hotel in Chang Ping can get access to Mission Hills also. Is that true?

I'm sure there are a number of places that can get you in with some sort of "package".

I played a number of rounds out there as my uncle is a member. All I can say is the place is HUGE! I think they have 12 courses now?

But quite a trek to get out there to play....we took the shuttle from HK to the course.

I'd also suggest trying to get out to play the courses owned by the Jockey Club out at Kau Sai Chau?

Pretty neat place as you have to take a ferry to the "golf island."

Remember to bring your passport AND handicap card.
