Columbus Ohio 2- man Scramble is ANYONE playing?

I played in the Irish Open at Royal American Golf Links just north of Columbus, Ohio last year and although fairly cold, it was a lot of fun. The weather at the end of March can be anything from 32 to 67.....

2 Man scramble with skins, is anyone near Columbus playing this year???

i have never heard of it. i like royal american. when is it? how much does it cost?

I'm interested in info too. Anything in Ohio in March is a gamble, but Royal American is a fairly decent course. I highly doubt I could find anyone to play if anyone else is interested in playing and teaming up, I know the course and play to a +4.

If you reserve prior to Feb 21st it is $35 includes dinner and cart.

 

After that date it is $45

 

Call their pro shop to sign up.

I tried calling again a few times...I finally just left them a vmail w/ my #. God I hope the weather holds up. So Bend, are you coming in just for the Irish Open or are you planning on playing Sunday up here as well?

Just coming up for the day. However, I am willing to come up anytime to play.

 

Last year it was windy and about 38 degrees. I was under dressed, this year I will have extra clothes.

Shot 70 today...we just could not get anything going w/ the flatsticks. The guys we played with shot 62...I didn't stick around for the entire ceremony, but I can't imagine anyone going any lower than those guys. Any results / Winners from the board here?

We shot 66 and finished T-4. I could have used a little help, Aaron (j/k). Just couldn't get anything going. We're inside 10 feet 5-7 times and miss and 3 putt twice. It was embarrassing.

 

62 was low by 2...

yeah the guys we played with could golf their ball...wedge game was just deadly. We easily could have been around 66, but going +1 on the Par 5's was a killer. You guys planning on playing in the outing they have coming up in April?

I dont know about the outing in April. I just met the guy I played with today and wouldn't know another 2 people to play in that event with. If you need someone to round out a foursome I can at least hit the driver well...

Ahh dammit. Came in with a 68 after going 6 under though 10. A par on #1 after having 195 to the green pretty much signaled the end of our contention.

 

I heard the guy who won a skin lipped the eagle putt but called it good. Dirty cheater... ;)

I've played some of my best golf at Royal American...

 

Is it open to amateurs only?

We were 3 under with 3 bogeys.

 

We did, IN FACT, eagle #17, a par 4. We each won $87 skin. The other skin was a birdie on a par 3, of which there were 2 but the other did not pay to enter the skins game, if he had, my partner and I would won all the $$$.

 

This is the second year in a row we walked out with CASH! It was fun.

Sorry, little late to the results show. Yeah, madmac basically shot 67 and I rolled in a 20 footer for birdie somewhere on the front nine. :good: Two 3 putts in scramble format is always a bit disturbing. It was still a blast though...great weather and it was just fun being out there.
