So the refinish possibilities are almost endless. That's good news to hear. What year did this model come out? I was quite surprised at how well the ball rolled off it's face. I've always been a fan of 8802 putters, and to find one a little older that can keep up with today's technology always makes me happy.

I'd ballpark it somewhere around 1995-1999. I'm pretty sure it was on the scene before Tad Moore released the Tour Classic (1999) but don't know where it falls in relation to the Cameron Napa. They were all milled by the same company and the similarities are obvious.

Yet, the Teardrop with the roll face gives a different roll than the milled Cameron and has a different feel than the Tad with the copper insert. Brothers from another mother. (or father in this case ;) )

Wow, holy crap. I knew I was getting a good deal on mine, but didn't think it was THAT good. That putter has a huge dent in it, mine only has minor shop wear. I think I'll have to keep it around a little while though, it really puts a terrific roll on the ball, and sets up great behind the ball.

Wow, really? Stage, or anyone else in the know in these matters, what has gone on in the last few years to increase the value of these putters so drastically while the rest of the used golf equipment market goes in the tank?
There are very few 8802 styles out there within reason. Remember that this putter still went for HALF what most Cameron Napa putters are going for. The Bettinardis (minus the BC-7) are low production as well. Byron is going to release another round of Captain Morgans, but for now there are only 25 Maker's proofs out there. Tad Moore's Barn Finds are limited to 50 putters.

This is a carbon steel head, nickel plated for low maintenance, milled by one of the finest putter manufacturing facilities out there. It has a modern weight, unlike the lighter 8802 and Cleveland heads. And the face does put a nice, tight roll on the ball.

I don't see the other TD series putters getting this kind of action, but the TD-42 is an unpolished gem in the 8802 world that people are only starting to realize. Plus, it could be had in lefty.

Minus the face ding, this one is also in good shape.

Its really hit or miss on who is watching it and how much money they have and how bad they want it. :D

That is one of the higher price that I have seen them go for on eBay. They come up for sale so rarely that it just depends on who stumbles upon it.

I REALLY like mine in terms of 8802's that I have rolled, decent headweight, Bettinardi milled carbon steel, doesnt get much better.

That putter looks pretty beat up, I'm actually surprised it sold for over $100. I'm starting to really think I got lucky finding one of these in such excellent condition, all original. Makes me wonder how much it would go for if I put it up on ebay, the market is really hot on these things right now. My putter literally only has shop wear, like it was either never gamed or taken extremely good care of, which seems to be rare for putters this old. It's still not as purdy as my Barn Find, but I can't wait to get it on the course and see if I can shave off a putt or two...

I got mine by making an offer to the guy, I was lucky that he lived literally 25 minutes from my house and agreed to let me try it and "talk" about it. $50 dollars later I was a very happy man.

IMO, radius face technology still puts the best roll on the ball. I have NO idea why no other companies have jumped on this idea.

I found a reasonably priced LH 8802 style Arnold Palmer putter on eBay. The link to the seller's store is below. He also has RH versions of the same putter available.
