MACHINE Putters at the Players Championship

Hey Everyone,

If you are watching the Players Championship, you just saw a close up of a MACHINE M2A Converter in Hot Salts Gunmetal Blue finish and a 303 stainless blade back flange make birdie on 17 at the Players Championship! Pretty darn cool, IMO. Close ups from behind, and from the face view, where you could see the VMG milled face.

Currently 5 under, tied for 3rd after 17. 23 putts, 1.455 / GIR thru 17... 6 birdies thru the last 9 holes... :)

Go MACHINE, Go!!!

-Chris

PS: I'll be posting pictures of the Backup of his shortly :)

I KNEW that was a Machine! I spotted the VMG milled face when he putted for birdie on 13:) I wonder why he isn't playing the prototype that was made for him?

Chris whats the specs of M2A convertor used? Those VMG face milling are super cool.

I pity those prototypes made for Ryan LOL.

When they showed the closeup of the face of Ryan's putter, I recognized that putter right away. :) Plus the back flange being a different finish clued me in as well.

Fantastic round by Ryan today! Alot of fun to watch. He has really been struggling with his putting this year and has really been searching. This is the 7th different putter he has used this year in 11 events. He has used everything from an anser style w plumbers neck, anser style w flow neck, double bend moi mallet, center shafted mallet, heel shafted blade and now back to an anser style again. I do not care what companies name is on it I just want him to find something that he feels completely comfortable with and will settle on and start playing to his potential and winning. If the putts keep falling Ryan is as good as pretty much anyone in the game. So here's to Machine, Scratch and Ryan having a great weekend!! :drinks:

Congrats to all companies involved and Ari that statement truly shows that you are in it for the good of the game and your staff.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Very well said Ari! I appreciate your candid and gracious post, and I know all the MACHINE fans, Scratch's and Ryan's do as well. I'll second those cheers!

It was really exciting for us to work with Ryan earlier this week and see him playing so well and rolling it so well with his new putter right out of the gate. His putting stats were really impressive. We're definitely rooting for Ryan's continued good play, and wishing him all the best!

Without further ado, attached is a photo of a backup we just made of the putter Ryan was fit for earlier this week by Ken McDonald, our MACHINE Putter Tour Rep.

The basic specs are Custom M2A Converter in 1018 carbon steel with South Beach Cuts and Hot Salts Gunmetal Blue finish, matching flat front plumber neck, and a 303 stainless steel Blade Back flange. Ryan's has white paintfill in the head's cavity sightline. Steel shaft and a Winn grip.

I'll take some more / better photos of the backup putter tomorrow.

Go Ryan!

I don't wish putting struggles on ANYONE, but I do love to see a Tour player as much of a putter ho as I am.

I don't swap any of my clubs other than the putter, but that spot in the bag is never safe! :D

Congrats David, A little good news to make the back feel better. You make a fantastic putter and I think Ryan will agree. Putting is so much about confidence and he appears to have it now like he does in his irons and wedges.

You are such a gentlemen as well! Glad to call you a friend. R

Thanks R! You are too kind, but a good friend nonetheless! :) Did you get that backyard green built yet? Look forward to hearing an update, and talking about art some more. Its almost time for the Texas swing and especially the Nelson and Colonial! Hope to see you at one or both or the Studio if you can make it. Maybe we can finally find some shafts or ridiculously expensive covers, or both!

I also want to say I admire Ryan for giving the fringe manufacturers a chance. He could have very easily gone to the dark side (or money side and he did not for now) guys a chance. Good luck Ryan!
[/quote]

BTW, I prefer "Indy" (independent), or "Boutique" maker over "fringe". Fringe reminds me of the stuff off the green, and too close to the rough! LOL.

According to Ari, Ryan has used 7 putters in 11 events this year, and still really searching. With ours, I think it is a combination of all the technologies (VMG mill pattern, South Beach Cuts and infinitely adjustability of shape, MOI, balance, weighting, etc), as well as the look and all the adjustability allowing our Tour rep to fit him on the spot at the beginning of this week. I really like the combination he chose, with the Gunmetal Blue carbon head and neck, and the stainless blade flange. It really makes a nice additional alignment feature. As far as I know, you just can't all that with any other putter, even from the dark side!

:)

Dave, got your email and it was great news about RM and the machine. I just got back from Arkansas after playing with JD. He told me he was going to colonial so will be a good chance for you to talk to him. He did not roll either putter when we played because he wanted to put his kangaroo grips on them. He also wanted to check all the specs. Hopefully you guys can work together because he was pin seeking from 200 and in. Got to play with Eric Dickerson and Richard Dent also. Surprisingly both had decent games. ED had a real nice game actually..

Jeff
