the quest for a new iron

hey all:

well this is my first post so here goes. i'm in the market for new irons and i have demo'd (hit into nets) several types of irons. from ping s59, to callaway x-16, x-18 and big bertha (big bertha is out too chunky) mizuno mx-17 and 23 and so on. i was wondering if anyone out here has used the cobra 3100 i/h on the course and what they thought. i liked the feel of all of the above named irons with the big bertha being the only one i didn't like. this is the other issue. last season i was a scratch golfer but due to extreme illness and a lack of playing time i'm playing to about a 12. i've lost swing speed and distance. are any of these clubs a little longer than others. thanks all.

I bought a set of the 3100's with graphite shafts this spring. I love the clubs and am hitting them as far as I used to hit my Eye 2's 20 years ago. maybe more. They are easy to hit, soft to the touch and don't hurt my hands like my Pings with steel shafts do. I can't say enough about the Cobra's. I also demo'd the 3400's against them and decided on the 3100's, just felt better in my opinion. I just bought the lob wedge the other day, and can't wait to get out and hit it. After playing Pings for 20 years, I have converted to being a big Cobra fan. I have their 400SZ driver, 5 wood and a Baffler 3R. Not sure what is next, but I know it is going to be another Cobra! thanks alot for getting back to me about the cobra 3100 i/h irons. this is the type of input i was hoping to hear whether negative or positive. good distance and feel, sounds like a real value for my dineros. the other irons that have really been thoughts for me were... or shall i say are the callaway x-18 and x-16, and the mizuno mx-23 irons. but the price is the issue. thanks alot.

I own these and love them. They have a forged feeling to them. Very forgiving, yet give great feedback. Im about an 18 handicap, so I dont hit every shot flush. But after each swing if its a miss hit, the club tells me how/where I missed it, i.e toe shot.
