Blue Goose II putters (newer, cast version)

Hi. To get right to the point, I've got a recent (cast) version of the Original Blue Goose II putter. I understand that the latest versions are not 100% milled (as was the very first original version of the Blue Goose II putter). Only the face is milled. I am sure that there are other differences as well. I am curious as to what I might expect to get for it, if I decide to sell it.

About $50-75 unless it's the Goose prototype in the registry. $75 will be a lucky sale. Probably closer to $50 or less. They don't go for much, don't have Don, I mean Scotty's name on them. You're not
going to get a lot for a putter you could originally purchase at wal-mart. They're $58 new on need2golf's yahoo shopping page.

The Bulls Eye redesign with Scotty's initials in the center of the bulls eye don't sell for a lot either, and they bear his name. The earliest Scotty that's non-Titleist you can really make money on are the "The Reason" Mizuno putters, and their prices are going down versus what they once sold for.

I have one of these putters and used it for many years. It was retired some time ago with the rise in popularity of insert putters. I only recently found out the history of these putters and the connection to Scotty Cameron. LOL.

Interesting that you said they were sold in Wal Mart. My memory was that I bought this thing new at Sports Authority and my history of being a cheap-a$$ would lead me to believe that I wouldn't have spent more than $50.

My friends used to tease me because nobody (myself included) knew who Ray Cook was. At the time, most any golf club with a name on it was the name of a tour pro.

When I found the history of the Ray Cook Blue Goose putters, I pulled mine out of the garage and took it out and stroked some putts with it. Still feels great. Mine is beat up a bit as I never used a cover. The grip is super slick as well. Maybe I should have it restored.

All of them weren't sold at Wal-Mart obviously, but they were available there. Ray Cook was carried by Wal-Mart for a long time.
