Cameron Studio Select - how to fix blemish in top line?

I have a Cameron Studio Select that recently got a nick in the top line. Was holding my sand wedge and putter at the same time, in the rain, went to put the clubs back into the bag and the wedge slid down in my hands until it stopped itself ... metal to metal on my putter head.

 

The finish on these putters isn't exactly the dullest so when the sun hits it while I'm adressing a putt ... the nick seems to be the 1st thing I see instead of the sight line.

 

Any way to fix this, sand out the top line with steel wool or find grit sand paper, or should I just deal with it?

Fine grit will take it out. I bought a studio stainless that was
a little dinged and fine grit removed them. It did however make the glare a little worse, but the studio stainless have more of a satin finish.

If you have a buffing wheel, just put it to that. If it is too shiny, bead blast it.

Tried to upload a pic earlier and it didn't work, just tried again and got the same result. It's really only a whack into the finish, not really a dent. Would be nice if I could smooth it out for uniform look across the top line.

If it's not a dent, just have someone bead blast it.

If it's not too deep use some fine grit sandpaper to get it out then run over the whole topline with a scotchbrite pad to make it a uniform satin finish.

i recently had the same problem i used fine grit wet dry sand paper and got it out.

Its a golf club, nicks and scratches happen. Amateur repairs will likely make it worse. Deal with it.

I had a couple of clatter marks in my Newport 1.5 when I foolishly played without the Headcover on it one day. I found a light file on the top line followed by a rub over with some finishing paper or fine grit as others here refer to left it completely unnoticeable to anyone who wasn't aware of the damage and what I'd done to correct it. I however do notice the topline is now a little more glarey on a really sunny day. Might tape it or paint it even to correct if it starts to really bother me.
