Who switched from an old school Anser 2?

What do you game now?

I'm looking to finally move away from my trusty, stainless PIng Anser 2 to something heavier and more "modern", I guess. Just wondering what has worked for others who've made this transition. Thanks.

Try any of these. Anser 3, SC newport 2, SC Midsur cut to 34", Nike Method 001.

I have 5. Thinking of going to a Redwood Anser or an Anser 2 from the WRX dept.

Ping Redwood D66 may suit your eye as well. I have one in black satin and I played my grandpa's mid-80's Anser 2 growing up. It stayed in my bag for 10 years, I really developed my taste for gear during the time of the Odyssey explosion and one still never kicked out the Anser 2. The D66 is like a snub nose Anser 2 to me, and it weighs in at 343g, not too heavy not too light.

I got my start with an anser3 and despite numerous attempts never really warmed up to the anser2 style.

Of course if you go Scotty, there's the Newport2.

All that said, if you were looking at something else in the Ping lineup, on a budget the Karsten series from Ping is a great value and they have an Anser2 in the lineup. The Redwood series Anser is to me, a combination of the Anser, Anser2 and Anser3 and is a great putter as well.

My recommendation would be for you to demo the Odyssey Tour Black #2. Great looking and feeling putter, IMO. Wish they made it in a #1 (Anser) style.
