Ping i15 driver, 335 or 350 tip?

I know most ping drivers have been 350, just curious if this one is the same.

    .335 Just measured my i15 driver just above ferrule and it is .340!! So it has to be a .335

    they are all .350 but I have found they run a bit bigger when you put an aftermarket shaft in. I just pulled my UST and I am trying an Aldila NV. It was a bit loose. A local clubmaker told me the same thing. He finds ping actually runs a bit big when installing aftermarket shafts. I had never heard that but in my case it seemed true.

    I just reshafted a G5 and found the same thing,had to use shafting beads to get a decent fit.

    I have reshafted a lot of Ping woods and in my experience, everyone has always had a loose fit. I've used shims sometimes on 350 shafts to get it to fit properly.

    If you go to PING WRX, you can order .335 tip shafts in the woods. Not sure how PING accomodates this fit.

    The I15 driver accomodates .350 tip shafts. To put in a .335 shaft you will need to shim and use a special ferrule. The I15 has a tour hosel (I believe the g10 and g5 did also) that is tapered to allow the use of a clock ferrule to open and close the face.

    Can you provide a location to get this ferrule? I fixed it by using tape in the meantime...

    This is true. I tried installing an axivcore in my Rapture V2 and it was way too loose to install, but it fit rather snuggly in the Nickent Evolver adapter that I had. Which was supposed to be .350 tip. I just recently had an oban revenge installed which seemed to crack under the hosel or ferrule. They are still attached but barely hanging on image/vava.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':vava:' />

    The shaft that comes in the I15 is a .335, you need to use an adapter to install the shaft in it. Ive done half a dozen of these already.

    I am considering a UST Attas shaft in my i15. DO you see any issues and where might I find an adapter?

    The reason for the loose fit, is that all ping driver hosels spec out at .362 with a digital measuring micrometer... Why? i have no idea, but there are special shims available to make the fitting snug. My clubmaker has them in stock. If you don't have them, you run the risk of the shaft being off center while the epoxy is drying.

    I use these for all my ping wood reshafts and I showed a ping rep my recent reshaft and he said that it is the closest he has ever seen.
