The Aussie Mallet has always been under the IBF series and is an offshoot of the GR6 series. It has always been the black painted finish like the IBF Aussie Blade. The GR6 Aussie is only available in the blade in stainless finish.
That said I wonder if this could be a Mr. Beasley? Same "Ray Cook" puck mallet shape but different shaft hosel shape and stainless or black tour model and now out of the lineup.

Where are you refering to with this info. I'm thinking it likely comes off some retailers web site.

Hello

no this is not a Beasley
It s the model like ping anser
I m interested by this model but there is a difference of price between GR6 model and the IBF tour (each non black)
So i wonder why one is cheaper ( GR6) than the other one
Is the quality as good as a cameron ?

Thanks

Hey GGD. I'm looking at the RIFE IBF Aussie myself. I have a Scotty Studio Style Newport 2. I think the biggest difference is the qualifty of the steel. Without looking at their website, I believe one is German stainless steel and one is not, hence the difference in price, but I could be wrong. As far as it being as good as a Scotty, no way. I don't feel any brand is as good as Scotty, whether it be classic looks, style, and quality. That being said, I'm looking for a grooved putter. I'm in the desert and the grain is getting crazy in the heat. Grooves should help. I know a few Gateway Tour pros and they all say that the grooves helps on bermuda greens. So, IBF Tour Aussie (stainless or black finish) for me is still about $100 chaper than a Scotty.

PS The black finish is not "oxide" or whatever, so it has a tendency to chip from what I've been told. I've seen a used one at a retailer and it looked pretty beat up. If I get the black finish, I'll probably oil it and take good care of it to keep it from chipping and then having it refinished. Good luck!

i was a scotty fan ( tei 3 ) too but the lastest model was really a deception for me, i feel the fall going too fast from the club without a good roll .....
I hate the yes, no touch and distance control
I see more and more PGA and LPGA tour players playing with rife and the design is really ok
But in europe it s hard to try one so i need expert asvices

O.K. so you referred to it as a mallet in your original post. In fact it is the Aussie Blade. The only difference is in the finish. The original stainless was priced less due to the cost of the finish.

GGD,
That's the putter I'm looking to get. Scotty is still the best my friend, on all putting surfaces. You may need to just tweek the loft to get it rolling better. But the Aussie looks exactly like a Newport 2 with the additional "sight alignment notch" that really doesn't do anything in practice. Good luck. If / when I get one I'll reply back on this post and let you know what I think.

I think I'd have to take exception to the statement above. The lie align notch actually does work. Once the putter is adjusted for a perfectly flat lie and you are in a relatively correct setup position the notch and line come together. This becomes a reminder if you have a tendency to move to far inside the line with your setup. A repeatable setup is the foundation for a repeatable stroke. You don't have to use the notch or become obsessed with it but if you find your putting less than what you want it to be you can take notice and then make any required correction.

finally i buy an abaco i was always fan of the TPA XVIII
Practice with it dring 1 hour, my impressions:

soft touch comparable to the scotty
notch is a aid for set up
perfect weight and balance
goo roll

the greens are for instance very low in my club but i ve a championship on sunday on very fast green so i will give you my feedback on speed and distance control

thanks all for your advices ............ i hope playing in the US next year
