Is Scotty going to release the new BLACK finish putters?

I really like those black finish Camerons with white dots on tour. I am wondering if they are going to release them next year? Anybody heard anything?

Triple black, black oxide, black pearl, and black star finishes on Camerons have been around along time on tour but haven't really made it to retail so it is unlikely. The only retail true black Camerons were the Teryllium and the Studio Design I believe.

If you look at Scotty's tour blog, you will see some of those beauty. They are new and have white dots and white lettering. They look great.

i just cant believe with the ghost out and Scotty making these putters that they wouldnt be released. He needs something new?

Trust me not going to happen, at least in the near future. He will stick with stainless maintenance free putters.

He needs to forget about the color and start working on groove technology for his putters. The light face milling doesn't cut it anymore.

Groove technology has never been shown to hole more putts and only impacts the first foot or so of the putt.

I never said it holes more putts. But it does roll better right off the face with the grooves. That creates a better roll, better consistentency and more chances to make putts.

Why not just send your putter to a refinisher and have it blackened on your own? There are tons of guys that can apply a black finish to your putter.

You could but owning a cameron putter is already cost prohibitive for some people. Saying "you can buy this and then spend more money to make it look black" will be even worse. For others, it's the priority of keeping it all from scotty. Frankly, I like the plain stainless.
