Anyone seen this ball before?

I think the ball is kind of weird to find this ball and it do say Karsten on it..?

I know Ping used to make balls, most notably the two tone balls such as these. Looks like you just found a "normal" one.

I sold a red/gold one for $267. It's one of the more desirable combos. I think anything half pink is the most collectable, sometimes bringing in >$1,000

Didn't know they'd go for that much! I've got a couple sitting in the junk drawer out in the garage. One is a red and white one from a US Open and a "plain" turquoise and white. Guess I'll put them in a display box for the office.

I have an orange/yellow that I tried to sell at the same time a the red/gold with a $5 opening bid and didn't get any bids. You may have better luck but probably just wasn't to hold onto that one. A teal/white one just sold for $7.16 on ebay, sounds like you should hang onto them. The big money ones have gold or silver and to a lesser extent black.

That was the Range Ball during the 1984 US Women's Open, I swear. We got about 50 boxes of those in before the Open. I'll always remember that. Pretty hard ball too.

I found some in the basement before the start of the year and was using one to putt with as the color difference makes a good line, they are very soft, balata? I have a yellow/orange, yellow/white and orange/white thye are very cool balls. Never hit one though.

Back when I was in college (97) a buddy of mine calls me one night and asks if I can come to the course he works at and help him move some stuff out of this storage hold. Of course, me being the greedy bastidge I am, I ask what is the take. The old lady that owns the joint is turning the place over to her daughter and son in law. They want all of this old stock gone! They had piles of old stuff that was brand new covered in thick dust. Titleist 384 balata dozens, Maxfli HT, RAM copper watson sand wedges, I am mean tons of stuff then that was OLD, but now would be really OLD! Anyhow, we loaded all of the clubs into blue plastic 55 gallon drums that had the tops cut out. We hauled probably 1,000 clubs of varying qualities to Carrollton, GA to the West GA Golf Co and sold the whole entire lot. All of the balls we threw away. I still have 2 of those old RAM becu wedges unhit with dry rotted victory grips in the closet.

 

The gist. We chunked probably 50 dozen of these two color PING balls in the blue BFI trash dumpster.
