Yellow Golf Balls- Here and Gone Already???

Seems like back around the Masters Tourney the yellow golf balls were gonna be the next gotta have in golf........ Now I hardly ever see anybody on a golf course with them.

 

Last week a guy gave me a sleeve...... I used them and found something - JUST DIFFERENT with them. I felt like they were very shiny at first, then after about 3 holes use with them, they became dull and felt like part of the finish was missing on them. Almost like the ball had clear coating and then it simply wore off.

 

When these colored golf balls starting to show back up after being around years back..... I thought we were going to start seeing all sorts of different colored golf balls showing up for sale...... Now I really don't even see the ladies using much of the Pink golf balls.....

 

I guess in golf plain ole vanilla is king

I love the Z-Star in Yellow. I play it and will continue to play this ball in YELLOW as long as they make it. When I have to play a white ball again I will go back to my Nike ONE Tour. I love the Yellow. It is much easier to see, you always know what ball is yours and I can almost always follow the flight unless it is into the rising/setting sun. I love the Srixon Z-Star Yellow balls and hope that even if they disappear from shelves that they will be available online.

There was a woman who was using the Yellow colored ball in the British Open this past weekend. I know that she was on the green putting cause I showed my dad. Jim Furyk also made a hole in1 with one during the par 3 contest at the Masters.

I have a decent stockpile of Z*Xs in the Tour Yellow after winning $250 to a club Pro Shop three weekends ago. I really didn't need or want anything else anyway so why not pick up another 7 dozen?

I have always liked the Z*Diamond the best but the X in yellow plays similar for me off the tee with less spin and I can drop it dead from 200 and only suck it back about a foot or so from 80 yards, no over-spinning issues here. Not only do I love how it plays but I also like being able to identify it when playing courses with parallel fairways (because someone is always driving towards me when coming the opposite way) and people think I am playing with a range ball and stink! I hope Srixon continues to make them, even if just in small batches available only through certain retailers.

I was in a golf store today, and apparently the company that makes the balls only allocated so many to North America, and they sold far better than they expected. They don't expect another shipment until the winter, if not next spring. It sucks for those of us who love the balls that we can't stock up at the moment, but it should be a good sign there will be more.

Not only do they not get dull, but the durability is excellent. Played the same ball for 18 today and it looks new. If they ever stop making them I may cry.

I really like the ball because it is easier to see and idiots don't touch it when they are searching for their own. I played the Z-star X anyway, so playing the yellow is an ideal fit
