Outstanding! The Tour Yellow Z Star is a fantastic ball. Very soft, excellent distance, great control off the irons and wedges. Plenty of spin too. And it's SO easy to see, while in flight and on the fairway/rough.

I love it.

I picked up a dozen Z star X in yellow last week after reading people here rave about it. I've been playing the Bridgestone B330-S for years. The Z Star X is probably closer to the regular B330, not the S model, but I really liked it. Good feel, good distance, good spin, and very easy to see. The cover seems to hold up better than the Bridgestone too.

It played about what I thought it would, a bit longer of the tee, maybe a touch less spin than the B330-S, but the feel was very similar.

I will say I have also tried the new Callaway balls this year, the Tour iZ, which I would say plays very similar to the Z Star X, but the Srixon is much more durable IMO, the Callaway ball got eaten up by a good full wedge, but the Srixon doesn't show a mark....

The Yellow Z Star is one of the better "NEW" balls out that I really like and play well.

I'm about a 12 h-cap. . .Great from 110 and in, great off of the tee, feels good off of irons, checks up well with "longer" iron shots.

The only thing I DO NOT like is how the ball feels coming off of the putter. That cover really makes it feel like your putting a rock with a rubber core or something. Just weird.

But as far as performance goes, great ball!!

i couldnt disagree more about the z star feeling like a rock while putting. the thing i love so much about the ball is how soft off the driver, irons and putter it is. and the ball is as durable as it comes. trees, cart paths, wedges, nothing stops it or scuffs it.

for me, i shoot between an 85-90 regularly. shot an 81 and 83 the last two rounds, the 81 being my best ever. i can loose a round just as quick though shooting a 54 (9 holes obviously) on a beginner course in Knoxville 2 weeks ago. i have a 95-97 swing speed with the driver.

i definitely so not hit this ball the furthest. that being said, i have finally over the years stopped caring so much with distance and concerned myself more with placement. if i am hitting fairways, my game is so much better its not even funny. when i am consistently playing from the rough and fairway bunkers, those strokes add up quick. now, dont get me wrong, this ball isnt short or anything, its just not a pure distance ball. but how it feels off irons and stops on green and putts, its my go to ball.

about to pick up another doz today.

I'm a 5.8 index generally shoot 75 - 79 with the occasional 82 thrown in to keep me thinking. I switched from the Pro V1 to the Srixon Z-Star X and couldn't be happier. The Srixon is longer and straighter for me and has plenty of spin. I think it spins more on full short iron shots that the Pro V, maybe a little less on 60 yds & in, but still plenty of spin. Great feel IMO off the putter as well. As far as I am concerned this ball has no weaknesses. I hope you have the same experience.

I'm playing off 5 and I've just made the switch from Pro V to Z-Star Yellow. I tried the TM Penta but it gets beat up very quickly. So Far I'm very impressed with the Z-Star, it holds up great with wedge shots which shread my Pro V's. It pretty much spins and checks as good as a Pro v for me and I've not noticed any distance gain or loss changing to the Star. The fact it's yellow is a bonus as I've had many a person play my ball by mistake even though I have lots of markings on my ball. The price is also a good reason to switch theye are 50 pence a ball cheaper than Pro v1's for me.

Z-Star X Yellow is the best ball in golf.

Yep that about sums it up. Great Great ball that does everything good. Great spin around the green, soft off the wedges and the putter and is money off the driver. I switched to the Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellow from the Pro V1 because it is so consistent for me around the green. The Pro V1's would spin back 10 feet and then on the next hole hop 5 feet and then release with the same club. I could not get used to the new ball and that was after many years with the Pro V1. Sure they are more durable but the spin consistency, FOR ME, was not what I could figure out. Both the Z-Star and Z-Star X are great balls. Both spin very well and hold/spin back on greens. I have played through a dozen of the X and while I prefer the softer Z-Star I could play the X (in Tour Yellow) I could play the X if it was their only offering. Durability is fantastic and I never have to worry about switching a ball out during a round like I had to with the Pro V1/B330s.

I know i'm in the minority here, but I was disappointed with the performance of the yellow zstar. I normally play TM tdp reds or pro v1s. I decided to buy a sleeve of the yellow z stars based on the reviews I've read on this board.
Pros - Very easy to track ball flight and see ball on the ground from a distance. I also thought the carry of this ball off the face of the driver was very comparable to the others I normally play.
Cons - Virtually no spin around the greens. I missed my share of greens in the round I played with these balls. I had several chips that I thought were going to be very tight to the hole. The zstar just continued to roll and roll.
I know I could adjust my game to this ball if I played it enough but this ball cost me at least 3 strokes over the round compared to my usually balls. Based on 1 round of golf I would have to say that the cons outweighed the pros for me personally.

I really like the ball, plenty of spin, long and soft off the putter. I do feel it is a high trajectory ball but the wind doesn't seem to bother it too much. The cover is very tough and seems to stay clean, I don't wash it near as much as a white ball and even trees don't mark it too bad. Played 5 rounds with the first one before I discovered it didn't float.

I played it in an evening scramble the other night, it was so much easier to find than the white balls in the dusk that it wasn't even funny. It was worth the grief I got over playing a "glow" ball.

this is my current gamer ball, and it's a great ball. very durable, and provides good/soft feel with the driver and irons. good spin into the green, but not excessively so (will depend on your lie and green condition of course). i love the yellow color, too, since my other golfing buddies use only standard white balls; easy to find and easy to follow in the air.

Just played a sleeve last Sunday, and was pleasantly surprised.

Mid to high 70s is what I normally shoot, with a pro V1x.

Not a high spinning ball off the D3, and not a significantly higher trajectory vs my normal ball. Approach shots also behaved similarly to my normal ball. The one time I needed to really spin the ball on a half-wedge, I pulled it back about 3' (according to playing partner. I was below the green and behind a trap...) I did manage to cut the cover on that wedge shot, but didn't do quite as much damage as I would have done to a Titleist.

And the feel off the putter was quite good. (sig is off, currently playing a Oddyssey black series #1, no insert)

Summary: Not significantly cheaper than my normal ball, not quite as much greenside spin, but more than acceptable. And more durable, getting a complete round out of one ball.

But way easier on these old eyes when looking for my ball. :)

Primary bag:
Titleist 913 D3 8.5
Titleist 915Fd 13.5
Titleist 913h 17
Mizuno MP-18 4-PW
Scratch wedges 50, 55, and 60
Bettinardi mid-shank putter

Backup bag:
Ping G400 9
Ping G30 fw 13
Ping G30 hybrid 19
Ping iBlade 4-PW power spec
Macgregor VIP wedges 51, 56, and 60
Bettinardi mid-shank putter

I am generally a Pro v1x guy as well. But yellow is yellow so had to try it. If you want to try to sneak in some dusk golf, I can't say enough. Just a lot easier to see post 8pm. Much more durable than even the regular white srixons. Everything else I would call similar to Pro v1x, including price. But if after work you want to risk that last couple holes, an absolute must have.

I was playing last week in Myrtle and found one in the rough.

I am a 5.9 and just switched from the Prov1 to the Bridgestone b330 S earlier this year. I put in in play because I was irritated with shooting 41 on the front. birdied 3 out of the first 5 on the back. I know, so what?

There is something to the color and the mental effect. After a very good drive, I kept think about painting the sky with the yellow ball. Performance was very good and I agree with the above assessments, but the color was really cool. I will now have to buy some ! Can't wait for orange!

I love these balls in the Zstar, but found I shoot a better score with the Pro V1... I don't know why, I even complain about how much prov1 spin, but I shoot a lower score...I still always have a sleeve of yellow with me at all times..
