Moving to that area next spring
So thw wife and I have finally decided we've had enough of the lousy weather here in Philly to last a lifetime, and we're pursuing a dream and moving to California next spring.

Since we're not millionaires (yet image/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cheesy:' /> ) we won't be living in Los Angeles or Orange County or some overpriced place where a 2-bedroom condo costs half a million. We're set on moving to the Riverside area, also known a s the "Inland Empire". I have a very good friend who lives there, and he reports that it's the ideal place to live in SoCal.

Of course, one of the things I'll miss about this area is the literally hundreds of good courses to choose from. Everything from cheap munis to LPGA event courses are readily available, within reasonable driving distance.

Anyone from SoCal familiar with the I.E. area? My buddy is a member at Canyon Crest Country Club, so I'm going to check that out in December. Any other recommendations within an hour's driving distance? I know Torrey Pines is awesome, but I won't have time to drive there in December when I scout homes & jobs.

Thanks for any info you all can give me, this site has helped me a great deal since I joined!

^^Awesome, thanks for the recommendations! My buddy is one of those guys who is content to play his home course, Canyon Crest Country Club, over and over again. So he didn't really know many of the courses in his area.

Me, I like variety, and I love playing new courses. I rarely play the same course more than twice in a row. It's really nice to see there are lots of courses to choose from! Thanks!

I live in Corona, and like the above courses, but also really like the scga players course, especially for the price, and also like to play Los serranos south course when I can.

^^Thanks, I'll check those out too. I'll be in the Riverside area between Christmas and New Year's, I'll PM you guys and maybe a couple of us can meet up and play a round while I'm out there. Great to see that Golfwrx has all states and areas well-represented!
