I dont know i hope so,but read my post #28 it doesnt state any facts but,just my opinions.I know Harrington is still under a ball contract with titliest,i dont think barnes has one though.I dont know any facts about it but,i think they will be playing them next year atleast i think they should and i hope they will.

If I close my eyes and think of 1 company for technology I have to say Callaway. I don't use any of their equipment. But it seems to me they are 1 step ahead of everybody else.

Titlest. And if the answer is not Titleist I would say technology is overrated.

Titleist isn't the #1 ball in golf just because of marketing and tee up money. They make the best balls.

So we can agree that the power of marketing does effect a players decission of purchasing a certain brand but not fully...Now with out marketing what is the other main reason for buying a golf ball?Feel?Durability?Performance?word of mouth? If their was no pga tour what do you think the number one ball sold would be? I find it hard to believe that titleist would have such a strangle hold if it werent for the pga tour....

I agree with that 100% just because Titliest pays the most players to play their ball doesnt mean they make the best ball.Personally i believe titliest is all hype the pro v 1 isnt any better than any of the other top brands tour ball but,golfers are "whats being played on tour" hoes for the most part . Its a good ball dont get me wrong but,its not better than everybody elses tour ball,no way. I hope this isnt considerd negative feedback cause thats not how i mean it.

It is almost all based on marketing and what the pro's play. Why else would a bad player buy a $50 box of Pro V1's knowing he could lose 6 or 9 of the balls, if not more. No company rests on their tour identity and marketing more than Titleist.

I generally play the V1x or Z star. I think you can tell the difference of the feel of a tour ball on putting and chipping. If you gave me different tour level balls to play with no printing on them so I didn't know what they were, I don't think I have any clue what I would play best with. Probably something I would never choose like the Wilson tour ball or the maxfli. A true blind test would be interesting, only way to get past the marketing that has been beat in my brain for my 30 years of golfing.
