These DO NOT have the feel of any TaylorMade Muira forged iron---------BUT....these are so freaking easy to hit and are that forgiving--it might be an even trade off..

Great set of irons in every way but the feel .. I can't really tell if I hit it good or bad--they just don't lose hardly any distance hit anywhere on the face..... thats not all bad!!

Love them. They are soft as hell and look great at address. As Madball said they don't give you the feedback the TM cavities do but at the same time it hasn't bothered me. Scoring better since I put them in play, I know that.

Confidence with the long irons are where I really get the gratification. I have hit much more accurate long irons with these heads.

Today I had a 4 iron 200 yards par 3. Hit is 15 feet. Felt the shot off the toe, looked down and the divot in relation to tee affirmed that. Ball flew great. 2 putt and par. If the same shot with the TM 300cbs I would have sacrificed even more distance and dispersion.

I like them for that reason along with others. Forged and forgiving as hell.

don't to knock the Lehmans. I love those heads and plan on playing them again.

I think the Cally's are worth a try.

BR61 has them also. I would like to hear from him again.

Everyone here has it correct. I feel that it's seriously lacking in feel department but they are ridiculously forgiving in mid to long irons. One thing about XTours that surprises me is that I did not lose much distance on toe hits. Yesterday, I knew I hit a 5 iron on the toe with a bad swing but I was still suprised to see it reach it's target which I know it would not have reached the targeted distance with my 300NS.

It's only been 3 rounds with XTours so far but I think I do not like those TF Rifle 6.5 shafts in them, I guess I should've ordered them with X100 in the 1st place. One of my option would be to change the shafts or maybe swap these set of XTours with someone that has what I would like to have.

For Callaway fans, Callaway does have a winner in this set of irons.

I am curently palying a set. I agree with ereryone. I bought a set with s300s and they go a little on the low side. i tired a set with rifle 6.0s and the flight is perfect. Most forgiving club with a asmaller head Ive hit to date.

i've had mine for a month now. they are the best irons i've ever had. agree with what everyone has said, except i do get good feedback with the irons. i know when i hit it on the screws or not, but the misshits don't have the normal dispersion that my old MP 30's had.

It's only been 3 rounds with XTours so far but I think I do not like those TF Rifle 6.5 shafts in them,

No wonder, I did not like the harsh feel of those TF Rifle 6.5 shafts after finding out what happened yesterday. One of my grips did not feel right, being thinner than other grips so I pulled it, discovered that my set was hardstepped without my knowledge. Cut 3 more grips off, same thing. After talking to someone about the hardstepping effect, did not like the answer so I called Callaway so they told me to send it back so it looks like I'll be without my set for 3-4 weeks but at least they are picking up the reshafting & shipping tab.

Few weeks ago, I had noticed that my set was on hold for almost 2 weeks after they updated my order to "in process", I'm guessing that they might have been out of 2 iron shaft so they hardstepped my set.

FWIW, I managed to source a set from Madball and played these over 2 rounds, and although extremely forgiving in the long and mid irons, I felt that the shorter irons lacked "feel" and were quite difficult to play finesse or delicate shots - but hey, I'm a hack too.

The X tours are roughly the same face size as my 300 Tours but feel wise, I'll take the Miura feel anyday. Sold my X Tours and am still having my 300 Tours.

  • 4 weeks later...

3-5 Irons are a Dream come true in the forgiveness department. 6-PW are a nightmare in the bounce department.

This set is not versatile, its design plays much better in softer wet conditions. When hitting from hard pan or not so soft ground it has easily bounced off the ground causing me to thin the ball more than any Iron I have tried in recent.

Looks good just a tad clunky, feels pretty bad at impact, toe shots don't loose very much distance or accuracy as it would with other more player irons.

just my 3 cents.
