To be honest, the 9.5* SD + Accra doesn't launch that low, even with the FCT in R. It just flattens out more quickly and has more rollout when it hits the ground. I'd guess it'd be the same with the Ahina because both are low launch, low spin, tip stiff shafts.

Got some new irons, kind of unplanned, but I'm definitely happy and thankful.

 

The driver is an Adams 9064LS, 9.5* with Accra Tour Proto M4-65 tipped 1". I've gotten to hit this on a range a couple times now and man, I believe the hype. Mid launch with oh-so flat ball flight and it feels really hot off the face. The Accra is what I was playing in my Superdeep previously and it is a really low spin, tip stiff shaft. What's interesting is that this combo launches around the same as my 8.5* SF TP with Diamana Ahina 70X. The sound is a little obnoxious though, the SF TP is actually more muted. It's going to be tough deciding between this and my SF TP.

 

I'm also trying a Diablo Edge Tour 15* 3W with Fubuki AX f85 X, tipped 0.5". Smooth shaft but I'm not quite used to this club yet. I actually hit this lower than my 15* R9 (opened 2*) with RIP 90X, but I'm not making consistent contact. My R9 3W was almost automatic. Maybe I'm trying to kill it. I did hit one or two pure and they looked like they went forever. Not sure I like the impact feel of the DET head, but I'll give it more time.

 

Irons are Razr X-Forged, 2-PW, with KBS Tours in S. Sweet irons that I can't wait to get on the course. You can see my review on the irons and some backgruond in the thread linked below.

Thanks guys. I didn't really intend to overhaul the complete bag, but I've always wanted to try the 9064 and GolfWRX/Callaway came in with those irons, and that was an offer I couldn't refuse. I still really like my X-Protos, so we'll see what happens.

Haha, thanks. I will say that these irons play much better than they look, not to say they are ugly, just unconventional. But the look is definitely growing on me. Impressions of playability so far have been very good to say the least.

LOL, it isn't as much lead tape as it looks. It's two strips in the cavity of each club, and it's a lower density roll, not the super thick stuff you usually see on the pros clubs. It was both an experiment and temp fix to see how changing the swing weight would affect my ball striking and flight. The Razr Forged came in around D2 or a little lighter, and I was struggling with them vs the Protos, which are around D4-D5. I'm hitting the ball much better with the added weight.

The RHT is a good driver, but I've yet to determine if it is better than my 9064LS, which has been solid for me.

Solid bag. I really liked the razr x forged when I was demoing them. It was a close call between them and the cobras that I'm playing now.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the tour z. I think it could be a great fw shaft with the more responsive tip (compared to thd tour proto).
