Here is a dozen of the new Pro V-1 balls coming out of Titleist this year. Stratton was sent balls earlier last year to test and give feedback on. They just were marked with the Acushnet triangle. I guess this is the finished product, though in generic packaging. the arrows are different this year without the dots and it appears to have more of a hex-dimple type pattern. Stratton will begin using them this week in his tournament in Scottsdale. Has anyone been gaming them and noticed some differences? Stratton will have some good feedback after this weekend.

late last season I saw a few threads pop up and most people were saying durability has increased, which is great. Im sure some people will chime in that got a sleeve to try out

The durability might have increased, but on a full swing, my new Vokey wedge (old grooves) BIT into it. This is the X version. With the wedges though, it launches and spins a little more (apparently to combat the lower spin and higher launch of the CC wedges).

Only managed to do some indoor putting with my free samples and I think the feel difference has gone down, i.e. V1 feels firmer and more like a V1x. Not sure this is a good thing as I prefer a softer feeling ball a la Penta. As an aside are they going to hike the price even more? UK prive for older version is £35 a doz and I heard the new versions will cost more, which is taking the proverbial as they can't cost any more to make than a TM or Cally ball...

I think the testing period is over. I got a sleeve of the new prov1x a couple of months ago. Great ball but my vokey tore it up in one round. All you have to do is sign up on the titleist website for testing. At least that's all I had to do.

Hmmm I have not hit the ProV, but I hit the new X.... and it shredded like puff pastry. Also ballooned a lot (for me).

Interesting stuff. I'll have to give a few a try. I have actually gone back to NXT tour for a little less spin. Wonder if these spin the same.

the testing period is over.. i got 6 balls from titleist to try them but they were the prov1.. i personally liked the current versoin better because the new one the skin just got chewed off quickly..

Ive played a few rounds with the new X and I think its a better all around ball... great feel great spin I thought it was more durable than the past versions. I play non conforming wedges and had no serious issues with it. I loved it off the putter face. I will for sure be gaming them going forward. Cant wait to test the new V1.

Yeah, my pro said the new balls should be here this weekend. Gonna grab a sleeve of the V1x's and take 'em for a ride this weekend... I've already tried the finished product of the ProV1, and I liked it, but I'm normally an X player, and wanted to see what they changed there.

I liked the ball flight, and the feel though. Spin was very good, irons felt like butter and the shortest of short chips would still sit down quick, with old worn out wedges too.

Had mine since September 2010. Slightly more durability, less spin off the tee, and about the same spin greenside/wedge shots.

Nice, but still wont knock my Zstar X out of the bag, and now that I got my hands on some of the ZStar XV's yesterday I doubt a Titleist ball is in my future. But we will see.
